My fix for crazy stuttering
For those who use RTX 3070 and want to play at 60fps at 2560x1440 like me, just go to the NVIDIA driver options and leave VSync ON - and then in the game options leave VSYNC OFF. Stuttering solved (everything maxed at EPIC but ray tracing OFF)

Thats my technique with all games and I still have massive stutters with this one.

I never really saw any stuttering other than when a door opens.. sometimes.
That said, the first time i installed the game and played it was after the patch.

I have vsync off, 4k, epic everything (including RT), DLSS quality. FPS locked at 117 (3 under the TV's refresh rate)
Maybe i'm not noticing it because of gsync?
It isn't a very demanding game - at least for a 4090. GPU usage is normally around 50+%

hrmmm.. maybe i'll try it with DLSS off to see if it look better (tho it already looks great.)
turning off dlss in dead space made the textures look much better.

true, sometimes i still get stutters but not like before forcing vsync On on nvidia driver

sadly even in medium to high end pcs almost all high budget games and ports on pc gaming now have stuttering, it's like the new normal :(

How would that change the fundamental issue with Unreal engine and Dx12 ? I think its placebo or you just havent stuttered since the change.

Yep just tried it, it did nothing still stuttering like mad

I set the game for my friend (I'm The Enginer) who have the very same setup as mine: RTX3070 OC and i7-10700K OC, 32GB RAM (as we bought all part together). We were able to put all settings at Epic with RT and Vsync ON. Only DLSS was set to "Performance" and the benchmark said 86fps average at 4K. No stutters at all (but when changing area, and during less than a second) He can play keeping vsync ON and 60fps during the 2 hours he started to play with me at his side. DLSS do miracle.

guys! disable in game steam overlay and it works like a charm!

I already tried without any overlay, same nightmare for me.

I just want to say I have a 3070 (r5 5600) and i have only encountered one instance of stuttering, during which my game just went 30fps for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason after maybe 8 hours of gameplay -day off, don't judge me.- I just alt f4d and when I got back game was working just fine.

On that note, game ran just fine on recommended "epic" settings and 70% res scale at 4k. I just downgraded it to "high" because the glow of some projectiles was square for some reason. At first I thought it was just a different kind of projectile but no, it was a graphic error.

According to the DF tech analysis video, ray-tracing induces more stuttering so, for now, that should be disabled for a smoother running game if the stuttering is annoying you.

Personally, I have left RT on and am playing the game at maxed out 1440p settings with a framerate between 100 and 120 fps (capped) on my G-SYNC display. There is stuttering, of course, but it doesn't seem too intrusive and it is no worse than other games I have played recently, such as Dead Space Remake or Hogwarts Legacy.

Hopefully this issue can be fixed completely because, minimal as the stuttering is, it still distracts from what otherwise feels like a really polished game graphically.

first thing i did and i get nearly no stuttering at all.. i even have a stoneage 980ti and running this game at high to epic settings (like half/half seom high some epic like volumetric fog anti aliasing etc) with fsr at nearly constant 60fps.. only rarely i drop below so i'm happy actually :D

also the ingame vsync for me was broken anyway, maybe it is for everyone idk.. enabling the vsync ingame always locked my framerate to 59fps and not 60 and due to that i had a constant stuttering issue.. using nvidias driver vsync locks it to 60fps and hte stuttering is completely gone
