I love this game but it is too DIFFICULT
I like everything about it, the atmosphere, the graphics, the gunplay, the animations, the enviroments, everything is top noch. But the difficulty and the fact that you have to start all over when dying is so frustrating.

At this point I dont think i will be able to finish it

Keep pushing through man and trust me you'll want to keep playing, yes starting over seems frustrating but the gameplay is just so addictive that makes me wanna keep trying again and again once it clicks.

Just don't panic during fights and keep chill, you'll be flying through the game, try to explore as much as you can to upgrade yourself. I was the same at first was just impatient trying to rush through it but then took my time and was having so much fun.

U do seem to love everything else about the game, hope u stick around and don't give up.

There's a lot of strategy involved, you need to fully explore the map and decide how and when to pick, buy and use items and parasites, I'm leaning towards max health builds for now so I kind of notice where the "green" items are but won't pick them unless I'm full health in order to upgrade integrity. In terms of enemy encounters you'll learn their patterns with time. Play as safe as you can so you keep your adrenaline level topped.

On Ps5 it took me 18 hrs to get past 1st boss, I also rage uninstalled the game 3 times. Once I got past the 1st boss, I found it easier. It ended up as my Game of the Year, Biggest tips I can give.
1. Keep Moving
2. Keep Dodging
3. Prioritise weapons you like over the level of the gun. You will find it easier using a lower level gun that suits your play style over a weapon that doesn't.
4. Save Obolites to buy upgrades you need, don't just buy everything there is.
5. Unlock the Astronaut upgrade from the house, it gives you an extra life when you get it.
6. Remember when you die, you are still upgrading and unlocking traits on weapons.

Its not so much difficult as it is punishing you for not knowing it.
So it takes time to get to know it.. some of us are better in rouge likes then other.. thats another thing.

But yeah if you dont pay attention to the game and its mechanics.. the game will punish you.

If you want, you can add me and we do a coop run. There are quite a few tricks, that make things easier.

Don't treat this as your typical single player FPS. Treat it more like an MMO where you hone your skills and master your build in order to tackle a raid boss. It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.

Whenever I think I can't do it I think back of all the MMOs where I went into a raid boss for the first time and literally got one-shotted the moment I walked in and I thought: "I'll never be able to do this". Few months later: doing that raid boss every day and helping carrying newbees. :) That's why I know I can do it, but it will take time (esp. for an old geezer like me since I don't have the same reflexes as the younglings ;)) to learn and perfect the run.

The one thing I learned from this game is how modern games have spoiled us. ;)

Don’t get to disappointed when you fail a run. It’s part of the experience learning the game and story bit by bit. If it gets too much take a break. Just enjoy the moment too moment gameplay. Take your time. If in the end you don’t finish it, it’s still a nice experience. I’m confident you can get there if you stick with it. Good luck!

und das ist gut weil das game eigentlich kurz ist ohne zu sterben.

You dont start all over.

You keep the upgrades on your weapons and the ability to go under water, move in lava etc.

And half through the game, you wont start all over, but from that new location.

And bosses only have to be killed once and you unlock short-cuts.

Keep playing. You will get better at the game and unlock more and more.

you don't really start over completely when dying. you don't have to fight bosses you've already defeated. parts of the level are open instead of having to reopen them. you get permanent upgrades for traversal and your kit like extra consumable slots, weapons, etc.

every run has something new as well, like new 20th century house sequences, more data logs progressing the story of selene and her psyche, translating the language in the tablets, etc. you also get better as a player and more familiar with the different artifacts and mechanics so sections become easier and you actually want to replay areas to level up before fighting a boss you were stuck on.

and tbh i actually enjoy replaying a section, because the game is just plain fun to play. it also adds a tension when you do get to the boss room knowing you might end your run. it's good stuff.

It's hard you just need to learn from your mistakes. I did all the learning on PS5... since I have that knowledge, I beat the last boss in my first run without dying once. Once you learn the flow of combat you'll be able to do the same.

It is one of those games where at a certain point it simply clicks and everything is coming together and the difficulty is fading away. I love this game it is a masterpiece, played around 250hrs on PS5.

See I never liked this guy. I've had it worked like absolutely magic and then other times where it felt like it couldn't kill a root.

Hollowseeker on the other hand *chef's kiss*.
