Best button for dodging?
Hello to you

I put dodge on spacebar as it's honestly the most important move in the gamd as it negates incoming damage.

But I swear this'll get me killed as I'll fall straight into the abyss when I'll eventually forget that space isn't used for jumping that one time.

What button do you guys use to dodge? Ctrl? Shift? Space?

Or do you even have it bound to two buttons at once?

Shift has been fine for me, easy to press, approachable etc.

middle mouse button for me. I've been playing a lot of mass effect Andromeda lately so I already used middle mouse for dashing in that game. If there was no melee I'd probably use one of the side mouse buttons to dodge

I use Alt. I usually use Alt for crouch, but there is no crouch in this game, so made it easy on me.

I'm not opening any doors in this game, it's been known to cause stutters. I ain't having any of that.

if you like space to be dodge then just go for it, it's literally muscle memory, so either you want it or not, your mind will eventually get used to it being "space to dodge".

it's not something that procs immediately so it will take a couple of tries for the mind to adjust to the new imput, none of us are special so if you're worried that this won't work on you then well, it will lol

Thumb button on the mouse.

I also like spacebar for rolling in most games, so I've slowly gotten used to jumping with thumb mouse button

I have jump or dodge always bound to my left thumb mouse button. Sometimes on the speedpad I use the top thumb button as well. When it is a jump that is barely used I put it on space, bottom thumb on the speedpad and use dodge on the mouse side buttons.

Once I invested in a decent mouse with a couple of thumb buttons and a speedpad. It's honestly better than playing with a controller.
Circle.
Joking. I don't know. I heard M&K is way easier than a controller. Even tho you are missing out on the awesome haptic feedback and triggers this game has, but only on DualSense.

Honestly i don't know the keyboard layout, but if i were to use it, i would bound space to jump, and left shift to dodge. Pretty standard for most games.

The important thing is for you to choose a comfortable keybinding and try to keep that for all of your games so that muscle memory works in your favor. A lot of games have a dodge/roll feature so it's a good idea to set up a dedicated key for that, be it on your keyboard or on your mouse.

ADS aiming is useless so I bound it to right click. Easy access for successive jumps and dashing.

This is the only correct answer.
Objectively.
In every game - the first thing you should do is map dodge to the most accessible thumb button.
Your thumb - by default - is resting on it and as such you'll have the fastest response time.

We can close the thread now.

This, I wanna rebind RMB too, because I don't see myself zooming it at all
