Sometimes this happens when you alt-fire which is different, obviously you should do that. But ADS seems pretty pointless in this game to me.
In fact, I might rebind it to dash
Focus aim usually make my mouse more precise by augmenting the distance I need to move the aim, allowing me for more precise targeting. But it reduce the ability to turn fast and target another enemy quickly.
For far away enemies, focus aim may allow for more precise hits.
For closer enemies, you can do without doing focus aim. Focus aim may be detrimental in this case as well.
For my play style, I use focus aiming for half the enemies, usually the one that are far away.
This is my thought exactly.
On the other hand, if you can evade more easily without ADS and defeat enemies without getting hit, you won't really need to ADS.
Personally, I mix it up, depending on what enemy I'm facing.
or if you happened to get stuck with the shotgun it's helpful to target a flying enemy for a split second to fire off a shot and keep on running.
