PC Crashed while playing and lost almost 10 hours of progress?

Played the game all day today.
Was playing normaly just now, PC hard crashed, started the game back up. Started from the very beginning...

I knew I was going to lose that run, but not *everything*.

Yeah I had a chance to play this game on PS5 and it infamous for hard crashing and making you lose lots of progress. Happened to me and I lost only 3 hours but after that I was done with it.
I feel your pain OP and either you have to hope it doesn't crash when you play it or try and get a refund for it with a well written complaint to steam.

Same issue - rebooted after a crash and I've lost all progress. Game starts up as if brand new

Same issue here, lost 11 hours after my PC crashed ingame.
Immediatly checked my saves in steam cloud : overwritten by the empty session I launched 10 minutes ago just before I realised I've lost everything...

Hopefully this reaches the devs somehow and they look into it because if it happens again I'm out.

I hard crashed a few times but the game still saved my progress

i suggest using this auto backup tool that can create back ups in fixed intervals

I crashed once yesterday and it kept my progress this time.
Weird how random it seems to be.

There are points in the game where you cant 'suspend' the game and have to play to a certain point before you can do it. Maybe if you crash in one of those moments it corrupts the save, idk.

nope, the game prevents you to overwrite save from your manual backup, they gonna reset instead

I lost all my save as well and i was enjoying the game but now im kinda stuck not wanting to play due to restarting

I just had a power outage and I just lost all of my progress. This is especially disheartening since I just defeated the second boss and now I have to do this again....
