Huge FPS drop issue?
This isn't a performance thing, the game will run just fine but then you get to a specific part of biomes and then if your camera happens to pan over the wrong spot at the wrong time your silky smooth 60+ fps is now 8 fps and the game slows to a chug.

I know it isn't just a me thing I was playing with my friend as well and it happened during our play session to both of us in the exact same area.

I can't tell if a part of the game is causing a memory leak or if it's loading assets that aren't even being used but it would sure have to be a LARGE amount of something to cause these huge dips that I've experienced at inconsistent and random times.

There doesn't even have to be combat or anything actually on screen for it to occur.

No spoilers but:
Third biome, boss start and on each phase, MASSIVE frame drops down to the teens from over 70 for a good 30 seconds or more. Epic, DLSS Quality, well over 60 through the rest of the game.
Not unlike Dead Space with it's cutscenes guzzling FPS. Curious if it also has to do with the 3080.

I had the same experience Skypris, 3080 too, hopefully I had an op build because obviously I got hit (more like 3 fps for me, like a 10 seconds slideshow before every phase, just praying)

Yeah, it happened to me a couple of times too, out of nowhere you get to a section of a map, you pan your camera in a direction and BOOM massive fps dip, you turn around 60 fps, then back again, massive drop.

It definitely seems independent of hardware. My computer is a potato, but it still runs at an acceptable ~45fps with medium settings. But during some fights in larger rooms, it will randomly freeze up for several seconds, which usually gets me hit. It'll run perfectly fine during those fights outside of the freezes, and I don't think I've ever gotten a freeze outside of combat.
It's very frustrating, and has lost me my lvl-5 Adrenaline several times. But the game runs great otherwise, and I've heard that they're already working on a fix.

I'm getting this same issue. The game will randomly drop to less than 10 FPS, with it going back to normal randomly for a few seconds. Only fix seems to try to run the benchmark, change some settings, or simply reboot the game.

Weird issue as there doesn't seem to be anything specific triggering it, and it can happen by simply walking, or getting into a fight.

I have the same problem, even with all the patches they've put it doesn't seem to be fixed. I could be in a massive fight with a lot of stuff going on and be all good, the problem is when you look at some direction and it drops to 5-8 FPS, you turn around and it goes to 60 again. It doesn't matter if I play on the absolute lowest with Dynamic Resolution at 25% and 720p capped 30 FPS, it's still the exact same. It could definitely be my hardware, but I'm not entirely sure.

Linux - same problem. 100+ fps, than jump down from high and boom stuck on 8-10 fps.
Suspending your run and reloading the game once in awhile seems to prevent it from happening

VRAM issue perhaps.
