Can you save your game during missions?

I have no idea how this game works. I know it's a rogue-like of some sort, but I also hear that the missions can take a long time. Can you save your game and quit, and reload your game to continue playing at a later date?

Or, do you have to complete long (hour or more) missions in one sitting, or you lose your progress if you quit?

you can suspend the cycle and exit and continue from there

Yes, you can save, but it quits the game. You can then resume from that "cycle", but the save is deleted after you resume.

That is perfectly fine. I just don't like to lose progress because you can't save mid mission. Thank you both!
