same. it's on Sony's end, since they generate the keys.
Wouldnt use Kingion and G2A due to documented issues but CDkeys have been fine so would also like to know why they are a shady
Still waiting on my Green Man key...
Their keys(from cdkeys) are far cheaper than they should technically be. 40 euro's for a 60 euro game when authorized resellers(GMG/gamebillet etc) are in the 50s. Their source of keys is most likely buying keys from cheaper territories via legit means and then reselling those for cheaper. Random example, imagine they buy returnal for $20 somewhere in a country where it is that price and resell it for $40 on their site with the caveat or region locking. The problem is that nobody has confirmed they do it like this so the source of the keys is mostly unknown.
This is why CDkeys is a bit more "grey area". CDkeys and instant gaming by extension are the only 2 "grey" sites I somewhat trust because they aren't key marketplaces, those marketplace sites(kinguin/g2a etc) are just stolen credits buying keys and then reselling them.
Now, I still wait for Returnal
The whole grey market thing is essentially a made-up term to make people feel bad about buying from them.
Their keys are obtained through legitimate ways, and most of them most probably directly from the publisher themselves, a backdoor for them to get some money from those that wouldn't buy at full price but would put some effort in order to get a decent discount.
