Oh the old dark souls trick huh?
Yea I know, which allowed you to bascially save scum. Essentially I don't care for the fake difficulty curve. Save scumming I was able to beat the game in like 6 hours. Without it I barely could get past the second world. It's a really great sci fi action game with an interesting story that gets hampered by the chad like nonsense of not being able to save. Any game on the planet would be very hard to complete if you can't save. I would prefer if games got difficult game play wise and not lack of save wise. To me that's just a gimmick.
this isnt the game for you if the difficulty curve is going to frustrate you. I can promise you won't be able to get around this with mods. Returnal is designed around the difficulty and save mechanic.
Ffunny how the PC chads always brag on how PC gaming is superior because we have mods and etc. Yet here I am asking about mods and I am being told how ass backwards I am.
As a Rogue it has terrible design. But as an archadey sci fi shooter(my fav type of game) it's great. I beat Hades and all the souls games, and Dead Cells because the rogue elements are balanced and make sense. They don't for this game. Unless you have the time to play it for days on end trying to master it you won't beat it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass-backward genre to begin with meant to addict imbeciles into it and removes the need to make a proper, good game from the dev.
Surely the save file is easily accessible and you could even make batch files that just back them up on your own. I did that for the Souls game, with an AutoHotKey script to activate the .bat files with F5-F8.
The point > your head
The entire point of this game genre IS death. So why the hell are you even playing this genre if you are going to save scum?!?!?
You mean like every proper video game, which is, mind you, a damn hobby.
If you don't have time for video games because your excuse is that you are an "adult" then you should stop gaming.
There is no artificial difficulty curve. Save Scumming is a thing of the past.
Oh, made a mistake, better F9 right away without living with the things you messed up.
Git gud.
While I don't agree with the need to do it for Souls game as they are way more balanced and have actual check points, I do agree in general. Arcades did this back in the day because games were so simple the only way to really get over quarter out of you was to put in cheap difficulty like limited lives. We should be beyond this nonsense. Like I said only a few games are good at this structure. Hades gets away with it because each run it really short anyway. Plus they have tons of actual upgrades so you don't feel like you just wasted your time.
