Sony games are single player experiences which makes them vulnerable to piracy as a huge amount of people pirate them, complete them and move on which is unacceptable.
There was a minor performance problem with a specific version of Denuvo but only affected a couple of titles and was quickly fixed.
how is this unacceptable?
Look at something like Doom Eternal which is a technical marvel and is so well optimized it's silly. Has Denuvo.
Whether Denuvo impacts performance depends on how well the Dev writes it into the code. If they do a ♥♥♥♥ job then it matters - but they could do a ♥♥♥♥ job optimizing the port in so many ways that this is just one dimension.
The only solution is to make the product desirable and reasonable price-wise that it makes no sense to pirate.
Not sure, if this thread is just weird trolling or regular ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Denuvo is a joke & a disease upon gaming.
It's proven with research that piracy with games acts a bit different. It's not like with movies & shows where US loses billions of dollars per year because of it. Also, who cares about US anyway, that place is a dump run by the corrupt.
If the game is good, people with a steady income buy & support the devs, as they would like to see more of that kinda content from them in the future.
Those who pirate are usually kids with no income (students & the like). If the game was good, it will still act as marketing & later in life, when they have an income, they will most likely pay for similar stuff.
look at elden ring, its a massive success on pc, has no denuvo. say no to denuvo.
