is there a reason to own PS5 anymore?

A PS5 is still relevant if you prefer gaming on a big tv, on a dualsense controller, or you're a budget PC gamer. That plus there's still an absolute shed load of PlayStation games that haven't been ported, including some big hitters like Gran Turismo and Ghost of Tsushima.

After buying PS5 I know i will be ok to play games for next at least 6 years. And its cheap. Meanwhile due to bad optimization, hardware/ software conflicts you see many posts even from people with high end rig how they cant run game/ have fps drops/ stutters / black screens... etc. Only console is real plug and play device nowdays. Just put disc in/ download from store and play game. Dont need to bother with anything.
Many people argue that only only PC you get best quality, but than you can search steam survey about users hardware and you find out that most comon gpus are 1650, 1060, 2060. So its just for few players anyway.
I have also 3060 laptop.
Lets suppose next gen all game will be day 1 on ps6 and pc. I will still ps6. Plug it to mine 65 oled tv and play comfy from couch.
gonna agree with this one. It was impossible to play CoD MW 2019 campaign on my high end PC no matter how much I tried. so i ended up getting it for console and it ran smooth as butter.
yall both don't know how to use pc then. I'v run every game perfect on my 3080ti/i9 that I've legit ever launched on it, including every ps exclusive to date as well as mw2019 and mwII

there never was after there launch scalp fiasco BS
I'd rather have a consistent console experience than be on a good expensive pc but yet having to deal with crashes freezes black screens and framerate drops. Getting myself a ps5 when this overpriced bag of nails dies.

Can't stand responses like this, just because it works well for you doesn't mean it runs the same for others on similar specs, people like you obviously know nothing about PC, you just like to try and shoot people down because it makes you feel better and honestly? It's pretty pathetic, so enough is enough.

The argument that pc being more expensive is relevant again. The day of a 300 usd gpu having 2x the performance of a console is gone.
Hell, I ditched my RTX 3080 12GB and swapped my i5-12600KF 32GB DDR5 equipped SFF tower out for a Series X.
Our living room houses another Series X and PS5 with a 2TB M.2 expansion.

Sure the 3080 has around 2.7x the FP32 performance of a Series X but the the bang for buck in next-gens is hard to ignore. Most the PC exclusive games that once kept me on a PC are now ported to consoles. I enjoy playing more now than I did on a Windows 10/11 PC.
I do not plan on returning to PC unless I run another sim cockpit down the road.
You can't compare PCs with consoles as the games have to be ported anyway, and ports are never 1:1 with their console counterparts so yea.

The obvious primary reasons are getting the PS flagships/exclusives on Day 1, as well as the fact that even at $799 the computing power of the PS5 far outweighs any kind of PC that you could build for the same price. There's also the fact that just like an Xbox, a PS5 can be an entertainment system centerpiece since you can watch BDR/UHD 4K movies, stream almost all of your favorite platforms, use it for music and web browsing, and use eAC HDMI to connect it to a receiver/sound system/soundbar for audiophiles.

But the Series S won the console war this generation, it's an incredible console that does everything above (except play discs, but digital downloads are just as good) but for a fraction of the price at only $250. It's the cheapest that a game console has ever cost when counting for inflation, even cheaper than the Sega/Sega Saturn/Dreamcast/SNES/N64/PS1 when they first came out. And those systems only played games except for the PS1 which could play professionally mixed and mastered CDs that weren't burned (but you could play burned discs with a mod chip).

The Series S @ $250 + Game Pass Ultimate @ $40/3 months is the best deal in the gaming world right now. But the PS5 is an awesome machine all the same and when you factor in the ability to play UHD discs, it starts to earn its price point when you consider that a good UHD-capable Blu-Ray player still runs around 4-500 (like the Sony UBP-700, I believe is the model number, which I personally use in my living room alongside my Series S and my PS5).

But I love that Sony decided to release its exclusives to PC. Their ports are pretty much flawless, even on launch day. And they play very well, even on low end hardware; I have a 6950XT and 5800X3D on 32GB of DDR4 PC4000 and there isn't a Sony release that doesn't play silky smooth and stutter free in 1440p 21:9 (3440x1440)--but they also played silky smooth and stutter free on my old rig which was a RX Vega 64 and 7 1700X on 32GB of DDR4 PC3200 (almost 6 years old) in 1080p and 1440p 16:9 (2510x1440 i believe is the pixel count).

I can't wait for Returnal and the officially announced The Last of Us Part 1 remake coming in a couple of months. If Sony decides to release Bloodborne on PC and give us all the remake bells and whistles like RT, I'm finna lose it. Bloodborne is still the Elden Ring killer in my eyes.
I game on PC because I don't game on big screen TVs. Big screen TVs makes me dizzy and the text are unreadable. 1440p at 27 inches at 240hz is the gaming sweetspot. If console can chug at least 120hz at at ultra high graphics then I'll retire from pc gaming

laughable? build me a system right now for $799 with a 1TB gen4 M2 SSD that can play callisto protocol, uncharted, elden ring, witcher 3 with the next gen patch, cyberpunk 2077, high on life, et al. at max settings including ray tracing that gets 60hz in 4k and 120hz in 16:9 1440p. go ahead, i'll wait. the ryzen 7 3700x (ps5 processor) is $250 when you can find it in stock on sale if you're fortunate, usually $300. and a gen4 1tb m2 ssd will run you at least $100-$130 unless you get some low grade one on sale for $80 if you're extremely lucky. and you still need a mobo with an spu equivalent to a 384bit creative x, and a video card capable of high-max settings with raytracing enabled at 4k 60hz all for under $400. you can't do it, even with refurbs. and i haven't even included ram.

on downgraded lesser versions of the game made for console i'm sure it does, but it could not run PC versions on high settings.

Do you really believe consoles run games at 4k 60fps, max settings and with rt? You can't be that dense
