It doesn't matter, most objects can not be placed against it the way they can with a wall, and you can't hang anything from it. As an object the divider should have been treated functionally like a wall in relation to other objects, instead it is its own object with a required space around it and nothing can be mounted on it or directly touching it the way a wall can.
Which makes the divider mostly useless. The only thing I use them for now is blocking off parts of buildings where I don't want people wandering (areas that will be used for future rooms I have planned but can't yet afford, no need for idiots to go wandering over there complaining about being cold in an empty space)
