If you want to, you can go to my profile and have a look at my screenshots to give you an idea what it is like (easiest is to go there via the showcases). Also, I wrote a guide with all hospitals in the order from easy to difficult, starting with the 15 hospitals from the base game and then all DLCs with 3 hospitals each also in the correct order. I also wrote two other guides about reducing long waiting times and deaths and one about Robo janitors (which come with the Close Encounters DLC). Needless to say that I have all DLCs because I just love the game, even if it's sometimes frustrating when it's hard to get a star. Oh, and of course, there are also lots of YouTube videos about the gameplay which would no doubt also help you to decide if this could be something for you.
As for Campus, I also own it but have only 10 hours in it. I like it but still have always been preferring TP Hospital. You must try to lead your students through their lives that they get good results and every campus has other type of students, depending on the DLCs. But since I haven't played much yet, I can't tell you more details.
Campus is also on sale right now which is also a good offer with 66% off:

Hope this helps you for your decision. :-)
I will wait until Thursday before buying.
By the way, the Wiki Fandom is also a great help to understand the games better. Here are the links:

Just navigate through the menu to see more details of everything. :-)
I prefer Two Point Campus. It's the more "complex" of the games, imo.
Overall probably Campus is marginally the better game but if cost is in any way an issue I'd get Hospital now and hope Campus comes down in price later.
S.x.
However, TPC is more buggy for me because item placement seems to be more quirky, even when re-using existing templates. Also, system performance is less stable, though to be fair I haven't been able to add the game to MS Defender's antivirus exclusion list yet, which might be contributing to that. I'm also disappointed that when there's 75-100 students the framerate on my 5600X with RTX 3080 @ 1440p High settings with low world detail hovers around 30 FPS - Might be yet another Unity game with a performance bottleneck.
