Miasma Chronicles
PSA: Light Tactical mode is the hard mode
If you pick Light Tactical, the enemy will land shots on you about 90% of the time. Cover doesn't really matter. They will advance, an they will hit you.

Full tactical mode is a more MUCH more enjoyable play-through. You get to feel like your choices matter, cover matters. And you don't spend 100% of your paltry plastic income on consumables.

Enjoy

yeah light tactical mode is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up especially in hard difficult,

and even in tactical mode the probably is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up it is higly screwed for both the highend and low end. your low crit and hit chance are VERY LOW and your high hit chance and Crit hit and crit almost every time.
that's what I thought when I first saw it, like, how is this lite, this is hardcore lol
yeap , story battle where your party get ambushed and they summon too?
easy way to drain all your money into buying medkits
Also its bloody stupid that you can't switch between light and full tactical once you've started a game.
This is my lone big knock on an otherwise great game, I had no idea selecting "light tactical" would result in getting hit 90-some percent of the time in cover.
This thread deserves more attention, I see quite a lot of people complaining they always get hit

So either their positioning is bad, or this

This. I restarted and it is pretty wildly different. Tis bonkers
i turned it on to avoid xcom garbage of missing 95% chance shots on flanks and instead i got xcom garbage where the enemies 1 shot me through cover
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they baited a ton of people with that. Now the game is seen a way too difficult because everyone thinks it's the easier mode.
I am so close to figuring out how to edit the save files to switch modes, has anyone had any luck with this? I can get the switch to stick on load (I think, save game UI shows it as "Full Tactical" but once I load and then save again, it's back to "Light Tactical". Similar to those above, I didn't see it as an "easy mode" just a way to avoid RNG BS. It's not that though, I'm pretty sure it's bugged as I don't think the enemy has missed me yet, half/full cover doesn't matter.
Just realized this after I met "Ballers" and consistently hit me through high cover with endless "Superlucky" shots. Light tactical basically ended my playthrough because I just don't want to play anymore and you cannot switch to "full" tactical where the game is fair.

Yeah, I can't believe they didn't play-test that. It has to be a huge hit to sales.
Hard to say if lite is really more difficult than full tactical. The enemy AI already tries to flank and shoot from optimal range. The weapons like shotgun / bouncer have 100% hit in their full range, sniper hits 100% from far away anyway and only assault rifle forces you to get real close (<5-6 cells).

It doesn't change the playstyle in any way but makes your tactics more stable = easier, it's a shame if you go into cover near an enemy only to have ~80-90% hit with assault and miss instead of killing the enemy and being in cover against other enemies.

On top of that by abusing save scum silent kills you can eliminate already half of an enemy group in the first 66% of the game and by using miasma teleport / storm / aoe stun / summoned barrels you can easily take out most more dangerous groups in the first round and dealing with a handfull leftovers is just clean up.
Super annoying that I can't change this mid-game. Especially when it let's me change the difficulty at any time.
Cover only matters if enemies shoot at you when they have line of fire blocked by cover (and I think it only counts when cover player and enemy are perpendicular), if they move your cover is useless and you take extra flanking damage.
At extreme + full tactic I've never seen cover that prevented damage, if at all rarely.
