A few hours of AFK mining and Daddy getting a new ship (90M TY overnight)

About 18M worth of ore after fees?

Technique (credit to Cosmic Yak):

- get mining ship (Huqe)
- find Assorted asteroid in field (took about 5 minutes)
- get misactor out
- make ONE tunnel toward the center of the asteroid
- set off one worm at the end of the tunnel
- switch camera view to be above the misactor
- go up until the camera clips through the tunnel
- now you should be able to see the worm
- wait for worm to stop at the asortak
- go back to ship, get out
- use the hand miner, get to the asortak
- rig up some way to press both buttons on your mouse (I used a rubber band and a battery).
- yes I know there's AHK scripts etc. but rubber band + battery? it's right there and it's simple and took maybe 30s to set up
- efficiency 99% on the hand miner
- point at the asortak
- go get drinks / dinner / whatever

Profit.

I appreciate the credit but would feel it remiss if I didn't pass the credit on to youtuber's like:

• Tanner_6984's Twitch Archive...who showed me how to afk mine
• DeLindsay... who showed me how to use worms more effectively imho

or should I say they were the first I saw, pretty sure others like THEGAMINGTECH and etc. have covered it as well lol.

I WOULD GIVE A WORDS OF CAUTION:

• AFK mining really only works up to the point. Like before you place a Station down and go to war with House Seragon...after that, you really don't want to afk anything imho
• Really really should only be used while at work or asleep...too many more profitable ways to make money actively in-game
• Expect this to be hit with a nerf bat in near future..for those reading this after such a time

You mean the Huqe right? The advantage with AFK mining is ... it's AFK. But your market exploit is a lot more profitable per hour.

Yeah you're right, that's a much easier way to make money, you don't even have to leave the station. Wow, huge bug there. Oh well, I'll happily take advantage.

For context, the subject was about things you can (currently) do AFK (e.g. at work or asleep). And I have said multiple times this is only (currently) a bonus money maker...there are better active ways to make money in-game.

that is an exploit and i already mentioned that bug multiple time. Hopefully will be fixed soon.

I do not like how mining work right now...

It should be engaging and you should make more money by being active.

I do think being afk and making some money is fine. Like it would be nice to be able to trade while being afk.

I would like to have the ability to set a delivery roadmap and let my ships automatically jump from point a to point b. Trading inside your own systems would be safe but careful if you go into pirate territory...

Same for mining, it is fine to be able to afk mine but being active should net a lot more

Agreed, really and honestly imho there is no literal point to mine imho. I know crafting is coming and I know this is early access...so I am not saying it should be done NOW. Simply atm there is no purpose, other than to afk mine and yes it is a exploit and no denying it.

Surprisingly I am (personally) opposed to AFK while would be actually active. Just my preference though. Games like X4 has zero appeal to me. Games that are so grinding (not talking X4 here), where one has (or feels they have) to macro a series of events just to make any real progress... to me is fine but I feel at that point I am not really playing the game.

buy a ship for 300.000 and sell it for 1.2 mil. Not possible anymore since you won't find ships that cost 300k .
