Some info on how to use it would be nice. Cant use the stargate no matter what I do.

Yeah I rebought after a few month and still have the same issue. I got stuck going over the 2 hour timer, and stuck with it. Developer doesnt seem to check steam, so no way to solve the issue. I am shelfing it for now and if it dont work in another year ill leave a review reflecting my opinion and move on

There are 4 reasons you get this message provided that you have made a gate request:

- You are playing a Raid, Plunder or Operation with your fleet, then you are not allowed to use the gate in some cases after finishing your fleet attacks, you must use B key and warp away in another system. That's intended to work so, if you make such attacks it's logical that the gate owner blocks the gate.

- You have attacked neutral or friendly forces in space. a reason why the gate may be blocked for you, warp away with B key in another system.

- You must pass exactly through ALL the rectangles of the gate, if you fail turn around and retry from the point where you get the clearance.

- You have the mothership and have left it with a smaller onboard ship. You cannot use the gate with the smaller ship, you must return it to the mothership and use that one to pass the gate.

Unfortunately, because in heavy EA mode where changes occur all the time the game isn't provided with an extensive manual, but there are important in-game videos to watch (launch them from the main menu). For more infos there are some good video series on YT to explain the game mechanics in-depth, watch these videos even if they are dated, they still apply for the game.

Ive never had it not work for me. Op you can just warp to other systems without using the gates but it dopes take longer to travel.

It can be a bit confusing at the start, but if you do it right it works everytime, but only if you do it right.

I just started playing this game and the same happened to me on my first Stargate. Took me over an hour to figure it out. As a new player, this is what I did...
1. Saved near the Stargate and then reloaded the save.
2. Reset the route to the 'Rebuilding A Friend' starpoint in the Galaxy Atlas.
3. Received message that told me to proceed to the Jump-point where I then got the "unauthorized access" message again. Before, I stopped at this message many times and wondered what happened.
4. But this time, I proceeded anyway to the Jump-point and it gave me the route to enter the rectangles and I finally made the jump successfully.

If your request is granted you must pass the squares without missing one, if you miss one return to the entry point and you will do fine if you repass all the squares. There are situations where you can't use the stargates, namely after a plunder or uncomplete raid or operation.

Okay i had the same problem and the Solution was to press Q when set course after that the gate gives you a jumppoint after communication and you can jump

May be too late, but I found if I was in in the rectangle incorrectly and it told me the jump was cancelled, I reversed out of the stargate and tried again and it worked. It never cancelled the jump.

Thanks all, I did rebuy the game aftter refunding, started a new game and got hit with the same bug. Never got a dev to reply, but I think it's only 1 or 2 devs making the game, so I will wait for the game to be finished in a few years and try again.


I tried 4 different times and I have no desire to keep trying. Not sure what the issue is for me, but I cant pass the gate, so just giving up until out of early access.

Don't know if there is an issue at all, if you don't get all the rectangles while flying through then the system jump will fail. But this has nothing to do with not being 'authorized' to jump. See my post #17 above for that.

Also there is a virtual point before the rectangles that you must reach, otherwise the jump WILL NOT INITATE for the game, wether you pass the rectangles or not. I guess this is the issue that many players have. If you pass this point the message will CHANGE.

Without the exact issue description it's impossible to help you, so be more precise in your statements and tell us if you did pass all the conditions that my post #17 is saying. If you miss one condition there is NO issue.

No worries, I have to reinstall the game to replicate it, Ill try and get to it this weekend.

I know the game is early access and you are busy working on fixes. I am ok with waiting. I only buy early access if I am ok with bugs. This one is stone walling me from actually progressing, so when I get time Ill load up and replicate it for you.

See my previous posts, I explained it. I ended up refunding but then after people started offering advice I bought it again, but was stuck at the same area. I will try and replicate it this weekend with video if I can.

Sadly I refunded the game, I was stuck with no way to advance. Ill repurchase once the game is finished. Not sure if a bug, or a really dense user error, but not dogging the game, just didnt want to get locked in to an unplayable / non progress-able moment by exceeding 2 hour limit

Sorry, I just checked it, nowhere do you say where exactly you fail to jump. Here the relevant thing of my last post:

No, I was trying to do the main storyline. I was suppose to do the rebuilding a friend quest, but I tried for almost an hour to get past the gate. I sadly gave up as I was nearing my 2 hours threshold. I will rebuy the game at release. Even if it costs more. Just couldnt get past this issue and the lack of solutions forced my hand.

It was the very first jump of the game. I dont have it installed atm, Ill reinstall it and try again this weekend so I can give a bug report to the dev. Ill also try and record a video if I can, I cant say what all I did exactly as I gave up on the issue several month ago in favor of letting it develop.
