Report a translation problem
Are you talking about a siege on an enemy's structure, a raid of a system (destroy civilian ships and loot them) or capturing a system (you have to add your units just like in the raid and coordinate them, to the locations, they shall attack/defend)?
Usually a capture of a system should be:
You're in the system, you want to conquer, opening the starchart, toggle to raid-mode, select the commanders available, to enter the system, you manually direct them one by one to their stations (i.e. Captain Higgins > left mouse button > starchart > hover over Stargate > rmb = Captain Higgins will try to conquer and defend the node of the Stargate).
On sieges of enemy's structures you now coordinate your troops with the new RTS-system, where you mark your troops, hover over the node, they shall attack, click rmb and they fly there and remain, until they are done and you command them elsewhere.
If Level 20 pilots are capable, depends on, if you're still "update-glitched" (you can't add space forces to raids, captures or system-defense-missions, usually "unstuck" after succeeding in a siege) and have to workaround first, or if the enemy ships are of a higher Tier or the pilots of a similar level.
I i.e. noticed, that my Drone Carrier flees in nearly every battle/siege/capture.
For some reason, this unit is extremely weak, whilst Heavy Fighters, Dreadnoughts and Command ships usually stay until the end.
P.S.:
My capital-station is fully advanced, which is, why - if that really works out - i don't lose any troops at all, making you generate a reliable fleet.
I can't capture any system. I put my HQ in system 1. Nothing else there, it's lvl 1-10, my pilots are all lvl 20ish. I can kill the NPC's in just a few hits but it just keep spawning.
O.k., so sieges work out.
Well, i noticed, they don`t seem to be doing anything, doesn't matter, for as long, as the bar on the structure turns from orange to blue and the node turns green from a certain point on.
I can confirm, that on the map there are many red dots along, but as long, as the conquered node remains green, you're doing fine.
I usually send some of my troops to the Stargate, some to the Escape Route and if these are done, i take some of the units and go to the final structure...takes some time then, but after a while "Attention system...the situation is dyre...!" and you're done.
So do the nodes not turn green in your case, or are you just confused, that there are so many enemy units, that don't seem to become enganged?
Saw on Discord channel that more players were having problems capturing systems, just like ypu described. I've also encountered problems, mostly enemies spawning to quickly and me not being able to destroy them fast enough (getting overwhelmed).
Also, like you described, my own forces not doing anything (or very little).
I was able to capture systems eventually, by sending all my forces to the same spot and joining them myself. While the mulitude of my forces were still not involved in the fight, some did, and together with my Alpha squad, I (we) managed to take the startgate and moved on to the next attack point (Escape route, Spacemarket, Outposts), eventually capturing the system.
On Discord, I saw some responses from DBK-Games, that they were aware of the problems regarding capturing systems, acknowledging capturing systems are bugged and indicating they're trying to fix that problem.
For now I recomend, you level up more so you can do more dmg and kill enemies faster, since you're basically having to kill all (almost all) yourself and getting some help from your Alpha squad.
Or wait till DBK releases a hotfix to solve the problems regarding capturing a system.
