Doubts about ship XL

I bought the biggest ship for 16K, the problem is that when I face enemies they stay above my ship and melt my shield along with my HP, is this normal ?

They doing that thing where it looks like a REALLY close proximity bombing run and they stick to you like glue no matter how you move? You'll have to use the anti-bombardment subsystem to prevent damage from that.

Use your secondary weapons designed for small ships and refill your shields often, the small attackers will then be wiped out quickly. The downside of cap ships is that they are slow movers, but these secondary weapons compensate for it.
At least that's what I saw before the 4 update, I will have to play more with cap ships to see if anything meaningful has changed in this regard.

Now that I understand, I use the mouse wheel to select the 4 tributes I want and one of them is the anti bomber. I added a manual gun but I can't use it, what do I do? Which button do I press?

Are you talking about the big cannon? It should be able to be fired like most other weapons. You already have it assigned to a weapon group, right?

In the group do you say if equipped on the ship? Yes, they are equipped, when I press the right button the ship doesn't fire and when I press the left button the ship opens a circle that I don't know what it's for.

As in, is it assigned to group 1 or 2? Right click stops movement and brings up that big blue circle beneath the ship with degree bearings on its circumference and locks orientation axis except for rolling. The blue circle in the middle of the screen seems to be nothing more than a cursor. The game says there are two firing modes: free-aiming, and standard. In practice, static turrets just seem to shoot at anything in site regardless of where I'm looking. I imagine it might be a target priority thing.

If you have a big cannon equipped and assigned to a weapon group, you should see two blue dots as your cursor/crosshair for it. If you have those two blue dots, you should be able to shoot any equipped big cannons in the specified direction.

I couldn't use it, I ended up changing the weapon to an automatic turret.

where did you find mother earth ship for 16k ty ? the cheapest i saw it was at about level 7 (pilot) and it was about 10 MILLION TY .... now i am level 20+ its around 75 MILLION TY ... its the main reason i stopped playing this game is HAVING to have that ship later on .... im not prepared to grind to buy that ship when i dont want it ... if it is a MUST for the story ... imo - THE STORY SHOULD AWARD IT ... but if you were able to buy it for 16,000 TY, which is less than an assault rifle ... i would love to know where you bought it for that cheap, it may even get me playing again ....
