Little hard to work out if you have a high crit chance, but with the testing I did, its appears to be per weapon per hit.
yup X-M1 is just great.
I personally prefer having all boost and engine burst since it is so fast i rarely get hit.
focusing on dmg, crit and aoe.
Using a high fire rate weapon to proc a lot of crit giving a decent amount of aoe dmg.
2% of a high number or 2% of a small number... even with a good fire rate it doesn't really matter.
It is still a good boost in dmg.
Oh, I’m just starting out (level 17 pilot) so I don’t have access to any legendary gear yet.
That’s why I’m a bit concerned about generating enough spa with 3 (as opposed to 4) weapons.
I am using 5 Railguns on my ship, which has the multiple missiles perk. The weapons never overheat.
As for legendary items, I do have some legendary weapons and components, most from random planetary merchant encounters while zooming around on my hoverbike. Well worth trying.
Other ships like the Black Ops The Mist XF only have 5 of the 8, so you can only add 2 more components, you never get all 8 slots full, which went added with legendary components, that adds a lot of bonus damage
So the ships that only come with 4 or 5 component slot (so can only be upgraded to 6 or 7) are no go ships for me.
The X-M1 is a sexy ship tho and
The Mist (Black Ops) has some cool effects.
but I love the Morthra Geran
All ships with the right stuff can own everything anyway (the player gets to be OP)
Not every component gives damage though. Cargo and drone components for example. I think you can get every damage giving component on a ship that starts with 5.
My 8 are
(1) Hull (has + 300 to rail damage)
(2) Shield (has + 250 to rail damage)
(3) Weapons systems (increase rail damage by 100 and critical bonuses)
(4) Aim component (+ 300 to rail damage)
(5) Engine (%70 shield regen and +100 to rail damage)
(6) Offensive Holder (+ 200 rail damage)
(7) Defensive Holder (+250 rail damage)
(8) Power Systems this is the only one that does not have + rail damage yet, but I am still looking
mine are ( in no particular order )
1. hull
2. power
3. defensive
4. aim
6. cargo
7. engine
8. extra weapon
9. shield
It is not optimal without the offensive slot for single ship battle, but the cargo slot makes it far more convenient than morthra.

my x-m1 doesn't have hull and shield so i lose that small amount of flat dmg in exchange for around 70% + dmg and 180% + crit dmg
I haven't upgraded the Mortha ( Morthra ? ) yet. How high are the stats on your ship at level 4 ?
Anyway the main reason i used the x-m1 over other ship is the high crit chance, speed and the small size making it really hard to hit.
I was playing with the Quuen before, i didn't like the bulkiness and the fact that i couldn't dodge anything.
That might actually be tooltip bug as after around lvl25 you won't see those 300% anymore and instead they are around 10%, for now i moved to 1000+ increased min and max damage for weapon group bonus as i don't know how well that weapon damage works anymore. Seeing i can crit over 100k at lvl27 i think things are working well with this new setup.
