SpaceBourne 2
no warp cancel??
so my warp target location is blocked by a planet.
so i "warp anywhere" to get around the planet.
the plan was to cancel warp once i passed the planet and change target to my objective.

but... apparently you're not allowed to cancel warp if the random "anywhere" target you chose was leading outside the system..??? so i have to watch this 6 minute warp. then return and try again?

If something is obstucted you have the option to do:
- warp to an escape point
- select your target normally, this makes you warp to a 'Trebuchet' point which goes around the planet.

I think holding B while warping will cancel it and drop you into normal space

nope. not if the target is in a different system. not even if you try to cancel before getting the warning that you're leaving the current system.

but yes.. if the target is in the same system, you can use B to cancel warp.

but then i have to nitpick and ask why are we using warp within a system, instead of a pulse.

Because that's the name this game gives it.

Not being allowed to drop out of warp between systems seems fair enough to me as that would dump you into a void. There's no reason to require doing that other than being careless over your choice of destination.

that is a fine reason. though i wish there was some toggle to only show locations inside the system (hide all warp targets that lead outside the system)

The icons and their colours show whats in a system and what isn't, red for the asteroid belt, orange for escape route, green for stargate, magenta missions or scan discoveries, white is planets and blues for the stations.

Other systems have round icons and the AU distances are much, much greater.

yes. i mean i wish the B menu wasn't so cluttered, given how long IRL it takes to warp out of system when not using the stargate, so therefore i wish i could hide them.

I barely notice because most of the time I use the T map to set an in system destination to for for the mmb select.

If a planet is blocking an in-system warp point, there should be a 'trebuchet point' that will take you around the planet. If you target is greyed out, there should be a blue line coming off it to guild you to that point.

i think that is only true if you have the grey target selected
