you know what, lucky me!!! ive been grinding at this game for over 100 hours with faction quests and just now got to the point in the main quest where i even need a new base! hahahaha no wipes for meeee! i love seeing all the new updates, this game just keeps getting better and better and better and better........

Yeah unfortunately that wasn't a good move...

The game is in Early access not in alpha anymore and changing stuff completely without giving access to the previous version is just gonna lead to a loss in player.

Yeah this doesn't make sense... Playing in early access is definitely at your own risk. You don't get to decide what is acceptable and not for EA, only the Dev cam. Dev, Singular in this case, who has done a bang up job making a pretty awesome game so far..its just not done yet. Give him some time.

It is extremely simple and applies to everyone.

If i like the game i will tell my friends to buy it.

if i don't like the game im gonna tell my friends to not buy it.


In the end. What he does now that the game is released has an impact on its future. It is the unfortunate reality now that people can review the game...


Just to be clear, i personally do enjoy the game and will keep playing.

It still doesn't change the fact every choice made to drastically change the game now will determine how much money the dev will make.

It takes 4-6 minutes to capture a star system with 0 losses. Capturing an entire star cluster of 22 systems in just under 2 hours. Not a big deal. A little heads up from the dev would've been nice.

I'm always curious what someone gets out of literally going out of their way to peck out such juvenile rage-quitty posts. Like yeah, you sure hurt that dev's feelings. Haha... when I know for a fact from working in game dev for a long time, that when they read clueless takes like this, they laugh and make jerk-off hand gestures while waving them goodbye.

You see this same sense of clueless entitlement from time to time in Star Citizen and other alpha projects as well. How it is the dev's fault the player didn't read the room, invested a lot of time into something experimental thinking it could never change and come with potential progression wipes.

Set your alpha expectations accordingly. It's only yourself punching yourself in the groin (unless you're okay with it).

It is always funny to get rid of an angry customer until your boss come and tell you he can't afford to pay your salary.

Feelings are useless and worthless here.

The only thing that matters is reputation.

The game got a burst of popularity because a couple of known streamers tried the game and it snowballed from there.


I want to see the game grow and get better and that is why i think giving access to the previous version for those who want to keep progressing with their save is a good idea.


Most EA game i tried had that possibility.

And it's people like YOU that give too much power to the term 'Early Access'. Just because a game is in 'Early Access' doesn't mean it should be given a 'free pass' for every bad design decision. Because wiping already gained progress made in pre-existing save games is one hell of a 'bad design decision'. Especially when it can ruin that save in it's entirety.

I had a somewhat stable faction economy before this patch; Now, now I either rush to restabilize it with endless wars, and do what I have already done before as quick as I can. Or I run out of funds and piss off the entire faction with Omnissiah knows what repercussions.

I can't reduce the amount of troops I have, as there is no way to sent them back to being 'tax paying civilians', I can't get back all the resources I poured into the removed stations, I can't get back all the TY I spent on those resources, and I most definitely can not get back the time it took to obtain all of that.

But yet people like YOU only say: "It's Early Access, you should have known better."
And to that I can only say one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing...
YOU are the reason this kind of thing is allowed to happen!!! It happens because YOU just have no spine to give push back against it.

This isn't my first early access rodeo and I fully anticipated having to start over after every major update. Oh nooooooo, now I have an excuse to dump another 50 hours into the game. I'd rather the developer spent the time pushing new updates than constantly worrying about making stuff backwards-compatible with old saves.
