Mods are possible (No AES key used,)
I know the game isn't done yet so don't jump up my butt for asking.
But I would love to mod this game, with new ships, weapons, armors etc. I think it could present an immense boost to the game, with people making things like a star wars or home world or even mod. the possibilities are limitless haha.

Looks like the game is unencrypted and does not use an AES key, for anyone who wants to try. the unreal version is 4.27 and you can use umodel or fmodel to open any of the PKG files.
So if the dev has made the MOD pak folder usable in his settings this game is technically possible to mod already.

If you want to mod something, start mod, you don't need to be pampered with support, mod tools and what not. you just need the know how..

Modding is like hacking used to be an art of trying to figure out how other people's stuff works and change it. The harder the challenge the better. Especially if the game itself is a broken mess that needs fixing.

Aren't you guys proud of your skills anymore, once you get an editor all built up for you what kind of lame-.azz modding is it anymore? More of a parfume franchise. Want to sell your mods and just need a game to parasite on, or something? I don't think that's ethical

Last I checked it is an unreal game.
Hacking/ Reverse engineering, is different from modding.
and by mod support I mean maybe a template ship? or a weapon, something to explain how thigns can be added in.

Also since it is unreal the dev actually has to let you use the custom pak folder with a setting when he compiles the game, if he hasn't already done that then you can not mod the game. also if anything is AES key encrypted then he also needs to provide that unless he wants us to hack it from the EXE and that is just bad.

So no it's not as straight forward as you two yokos put it.

I never said it was straight forward, I said you need the know how.. If you dont know the "know how", there is no shame in that -)

So it looks like the Dev did not use an AES key, and everything can be simply opened with UMODEL or Fmodel.
