what are the most expensive minerals to mine?

i followed a guide to mining, and it said to start with gold, sell and get the mining ship.

so i did.

then it said to look for platinum, but it only sells for 3k a piece.

is there any more expensive minerals?

ive seen nikel, iron, wolframite, coal, and platinum. and some asteroids that say mixed..

wondering because i farmed for literally an hour off platinum and it only gave me like 400k for 2 and a half stacks. seems like a waste of time.

plus im hurting for money at the moment as i bought a new ship so i could have more weapons and weapons and upgrades are expensive and do not seem to drop very much from space battles.

Honestly, mining kind of sucks for money unless you're going to leave it running AFK all night. Just do one of the merc misisons which gives zero rewards but sends you to an uncharted village, and loot everything which isn't nailed down, all it takes is a couple of expensive modules and you can make hundreds of thousands in ten minutes.

This is what I did to raise cash when I started. Find a planet with 5-6 open style villages, use sniper rifle from distance to clear then loot buildings. Made millions quickly and raised soldier level.

mine by hand - eject from ship, go to vein, press tab to equip your hand mining equipment, use scroll wheel to set efficiency 99 and power 0
start mining

I messed up and had to mine from adventurer rank 3 to 5 in order to get the perk that gives you exp from other sources. But once you get your adventurer rank up and have that, grab the box perk to combine ores (Will give +100% income at perk level 2 aswell.)

Use the mouse wheel to adjust power/efficiency level
High Power = tunneling power
Efficiency = More gathering attempts

The asteroids that say assorted are actually the Asortak.

Asortak is found at planetary random POIs. When you ride your hoverbike around, exploring, be sure to check the rock POIs. If you see green, it is worth mining some.

Assortak tends to be inside the rock while gold and iron has obvious surface patches. At an asteroid belt you can use the misactor to make tunnels or launch worms and bombs at the asteroid.

Start by launching a worm or two and watch where they go then tunnel to where they stop and hand mining in to the deposit. Misactor tunnel or bomb need some care to avoid obliterating the ore.

So... you just have to land randomly on asteroids to look for the minerals you want? Shouldn't there be a way to see what minerals the asteroid has before doing all that?

Honestly, mining is not very well implemented in this game and kind of a waste of time.
