missiles so rarely hit. I can practically not move and not be worried about them. the missile warning sound happens when ever a missile is fired. so just being behind a target negates 99% of the missiles. the only time to be concerned is with multiple targets. then at that point its just a matter of doing rotations or spinning.
Upgrades can be done at any faction capitol system (look for Faction Hanger that looks like a giant donut). You can add 2 more component slots to your ship as well. Can get pricey the higher level you make your ship though.
That said, once I "learned" how to play the Game, it's actually not hard at all and the scaling keeps some challenge (skull icon Contracts) while never making it seem completely trivial (1-star brown icon). Get good at head shots with an always up to date Sniper Rifle and Character combat becomes much easier. With Ships, you NEED to use X to flare for missiles and power drift when turning to get back on target faster as well as hitting Up Arrow twice to boost Weapon damage (make sure to have 5x T4 Shield Boosters on you, you'll need them).
