just land, walk around for 5 minutes, then get back in and immediately try and get to orbit.
your energy reserve for thrust is indicated with the green vertical bar on the right.
In the same way your cant just continuously use the thrust (shift) while in space, you have to just fly at regular speed for a while, while it recharges.
Either way, even with a full green bar and holding W and Left Shift I couldn't get to orbit and didn't get the message to exit surface. Why not just have freakin' button to go to orbit? This seems like unnecessary busy work.
I also notice that if I hit TAB to bring weapons online and then hit again to take weapons offline, the three colored bars are gone from the HUD.
Go to the C. Copan Camp in Alegesic on Zondi planet and take the asset.
I land at the site, but the site is not visible - the location is under the terrain somehow - I had a look around a huts are all half underground so I cant see the npc's that are shooting at.
I also, cannot get warp to leave the planet, it wont trigger, I've reloaded 3 times.
I'm giving up on this mission, its borked for me too.
I'll come back to it after the next patch
It also seemed to whack my system. After closing Spacebourne I was trying to exit Steam and it said it was waiting for Spacebourne to shut down. I came back this morning and it was still waiting and the whole system was locked. Had to resort to the power button.
This specific mission if bugged.
Oh that wasn't directed at you, but yeh I've had missions spawn under terrain before, is a pain in the ass. Don't know why it wouldn't let you leave though.
The whole point is that no message is coming up at all, no matter what I do. I think the whole planet has gone whacky because of the bugged mission.
I stopped playing it's too buggy, I was playing with 3 different saves to go back from buggy states, it was a mess :P I'll check the game again in 1.0 release (why the heck it's 1.4 version I don't know). Anyway the exploration is just placeholders and already not interesting anymore.
+1 to that. That could really get old if I was playing long enough. How was No Many Sky handling that? I think it is just a certain altitude that sticks you up in space. I don't remember that being too annoying. Autopilot to do it could be nice too.
But I also have a beef with the way you get off a planet. Very often, while doing the ascent, the ship becomes unstable and spins, so keeping the nose pointed up is pretty hard to do. Even using Q and E to try and stabilize the roll doesn't work - that just tends to make it worse. You end up struggling to get over 5000, get the message, but because the ship is spinning so much, before you can react you've nosed down and it's too late. I've spent many unpleasant minutes trying to just keep enough control to point the nose up long enough for my finger to hit the shift key.
I wouldn't *mind* a single button press, if it's *in addition to*, because most of the time that's what you want to do. But I think the manual ascent to space should still be an option. It opens up nice opportunities for future use. I think it's Jumpgate that has pirates who attack you on the surface and you have to get into the ship and into the air and fight them in the atmosphere. It's an added dimension that's quite fun, with the added jeopardy of auguring in, and you can trick the bad guys into hitting mountains or whatever. There should be strafing missions too, and the villages should be able to open up on you with those turrets if you've made them mad, and you should be able to knock out the turrets with your guns. You should be able to point the navigation to another village and fly there without leaving the atmosphere.
Realism is what I'm after. If you fly in an airliner, the ascent after takeoff requires several minutes to get to cruising altitude. The pilot doesn't just push a button, he has to drive the bus manually. Why should it be any different here?
But please make it possible to control the ship. This insistence on rolling over and spinning out is annoying. Fix that, and the W ascent to 5000 method makes perfect sense.
Another thing that has helped me with Planets is left arrow twice to push Engines to max power. It helps stabilize the Ship in high winds and to reach 5K elevation faster so I can escape atmo.
