To the developer, you've built up a reputation for listening to your players and supporters. That you are ignoring this long-standing complaint is pretty baffling.
Blunt leveling is an absolute no-go for me. I'm going to uninstall the game for now, as it's turning out to be more and more of a half-baked waste of time. Perhaps the developer(s) should urgently (!) fundamentally revise and rethink the concept imho.
Until then, it's not for me and my inner thumb is going down even further, unfortunately :( Let's see what it looks like in a year's time, there's still a lot of development time to go into it ;)
In any case, a 2023 release is veeeery unrealistic and even 2024 will be nothing in this still pre-alpha state. Sure, it's Early Access, but I have to say that it's gone into this phase far too early for my taste.
STOP raising your Pilot level and work on ground/adventure missions for $$$....
EVERY time you raise your Pilot level the ship price will go up, because the ship level being sold is your Current Level.
It increases in price because the stats increase.
/EDIT You can also mine and do trade for $$$ also.... just not my cup of tea
I'd like too that these ship prices change and are not tied to your level anymore, but a) if ship prices are a constant, it won't get easier because they would be even more expensive and b) in the meantime and waiting for that you need to do like in answer #1.
Person A: "I play for the ship combat. In its current state this game is not for me."
Person B: "Just don't do the ship combat for a bit, while you do this other thing that you don't like".
We can read, we just don't want to play this game as is and are explaining why we don't want to play it. If you can't accept that I don't know what else to tell you.
Person A: I don't like this game as it is, I only want to play less than 1/4 of it... but just have to complain because I'm special...
Person B: Ok, but if you play it, here's how you do it.
Person A: Why won't you listen to me whine?
Person B: Move on, obviously not for you. LOL
/EDIT This programmed by ONE guy and he made a choice, It's a CORE component of the game. Find something else OR help him program? LOL
Of course we don't use the game elements in a game that advertises freedom, but then puts the player on a chain and punishes him/her if he/she wants to play the way he/she likes, because otherwise there are disadvantages and delays in the game progress. That is a very questionable approach for me. If you like to play like that and do the same thing for hours on end just to avoid leveling up... well, then the game is probably just right for some people.
Getting stronger in order to be able to advance into more difficult areas/do missions where you've been spanked before, where you can get even stronger through better loot/rewards, the you can go to even more dangerous regions and so on... get it? ;) I find this more motivating and leveling in itself more meaningfuln than as it like now: Everything just levels up unimmersively. Without constructive (!) critic there will be no change. I hope the developer will find a better way :)
The dev is well aware of all this, he tried to change it several times already, it's not yet perfect and he knows it. But he has a time schedule, atm he is working to change the faction system so guess that you'll have to wait for ship prices to change...
No Problem for me, if this is true. I deinstalled it already and wish him the best with his project. But at the moment I don't have the time for further "investigation" that and I still have more complete games to test and play. THATS Work! But someone has to do it :D
I will certainly come back to the game later. A year from now or so, if it should still be in EA. The thing will take quite a while, I understand ;)
