i'm more excited about this game than i am with Starfield at the moment
i like bethesda games, even with all the bugs and such, but starfield with their standards going only in the direction of visual fidelity doesn't really hype me up for playing their game, i like good graphics as much as the next guy, but never at the cost of my overall performance being bogged down and only people with the most amazing rig can play at good performance, and i would also have to upgrade my PC specs in order to play that game when it comes out, that's a lot of money i simply won't have for a long while, to not only upgrade my PC, but also to get the game as well.

i mean i was excited for that kind of game because i know it's something i will enjoy when it comes to the possibilities of mods, but the really good mods won't happen until a good year or two from release of that game anyway.

so because of hardware restraints and money i have to choose something else i can play, and this game seems like the next best thing falling into this category, now i know this game doesn't have mods and that it's not finished and it's early access, but i would at least hope in the future that it will, maybe it won't idk, but everyone knows having modding tools and allowing the community to do modding makes the game gain more popularity and more support for that game.

i understand this game is made by a single dev, but having such a thing possible could really make this game popular and gain more support into it's future, anyway i'm sure there many who are in somewhat the same boat as me where they can't afford the higher end gear to run starfield and like me will have to wait it out for a while before they can upgrade their hardware, but we would like an alternative game to play instead of that game and this game looks like the best bet to go to.

i know NMS exists, and that game is ok, but it's not really the kind of gameplay i personally like, it's just too grindy in procedural generation, the game doesn't even have voice acting, granted neither does this, but at least this game is using generated AI voices to give voices to characters in the game, which is very much appreciated! and something i hope to see more of in the indy game space, granted it could be better done using something like eleven labs TTS as it sounds much better.

anyway this rant has gone on long enough lol, sorry i get carried away.

Starfield and good graphics, hahaha it is using ancient creation engine erected from paleolithic gamebryo from TES Arena and later TES games. It is the most horrible and unstable engine on par with Unreal 4. The worst thing in it was never ending loading of every interiors and exteriors with 50% chance of crash. Even the best modders are unable to fix it. So believe me don't expect high quality from bugthesda, they are unable to deliver it. Maybe modder's will fix this game later but only if they receive full access to source code.

This game is very good. It is raw still and rough around the edges and the English grates on me a little with its over politeness lol. But the game is a gem and the dev is doing an awesome job. Payed the first one and now have the second one. Its what i want Star Citizen to be like when its eventually released( long after my passing) and fills in the gaps that Elite Dangerous has with ship boarding etc :).

for more than triple the price, starfield should be at least 3 times as good as this one.
won't happen without mods; i'm pretty sure^^

both the creation engine and the Unreal engine are roughly the same age, but your right about the crashing issues, however one engine makes modding very easy to work with where the other simply doesn't.

so i guess that's the only thing that makes the creation engine a better option, Unreal engine has upgraded their engine many many times within the last two decades, where it seems bethesda has used the same version since the early days, granted starfield is created in the upgraded creation engine, which makes it a bit better, but not much better.

however modders did solve the never ending load screen issue, they found out that it had to do with the physics part of the engine, they basically made a mod that would speed up your fps during load screens to 300fps instead of 30 at most, the game is capable of this, you just have to make a few changes in the ini and control panel to make it all work i got this working for both my skyrim and my FO4 setups. they also figured out how to somewhat unlock your fps to play the game at higher fps so the game doesn't need to be bogged down to only 60fps, the game now plays at 122fps given your hardware is good enough, my hardware is a bit limited so i only get around 70 to 90fps with this fix, but it's still better than being locked at 60, now i can run an ENB effectively without destroying performance.

but your right, creation engine has a ♥♥♥♥ load of issues.

i understand that English isn't this devs first language, but for what he's been able to accomplish with only a 2 years of working on this game, i was impressed at just how much he was able to accomplish in such a short time, it actually makes me think he hired some contractors for some of the things he needed in order to do it or maybe he had an AI make some of that code lol, idk, but for one man to do is simply astonishing and unbelievable.

star citizen will never be released lol, it's the old bait and switch tactic i'm afraid, they bait you in with promises of the final product, but they switch back to not following up on that promises years later, and they have what was it, billions or dollars at their disposal?

like not even AAA game developer's as greedy as they all are have this much cash for a single game alone lol, it's the grift that never stops grifting.

I'd hope the dev can add some mod support at least to help create more content like missions for space and ground, more variety of town/city types and layouts, etc.

If you know FMod at all, modding shouldn't be too hard. I would like to see some player developed ships, but fear something like this would bring in things like the "Ultra Laser" from Freelancer that you could get from the first world you were on, did excessive amounts of damage, had an insane fire rate, and was usable immediately at level 1... Or the "Ultra Shield" that was essentially unbeatable (1,000,000 shield capacity, 100,000 p/sec regen) the was available at the same place. Other things I don't want to see are the slavish copies of popular SciFi ships (i.e. The Enterprise of any variant, the ships from Battlestar Galactica, etc.) though I understand their appeal to others. I want to see some genuine new designs that are balanced and appropriate for the games universe.

Personally I made a Cargo ship for mining that has 3 Cargo bay slots, and 16 drone slots usable at mining Level 1. I reduced the overall speed (heavy loads don't move all that fast) and maneuverability, but slightly upped the shields and armor to keep things balanced.

No, I'm sorry to say I do not know --nor heard of-- FMod before. I agree I do not want to see over-powered mods but just more balanced content. That's why I mentioned town layouts/designs as opposed to mod added weapons, ships, etc.

Starfield eh...i don't know...? i don't have any trust left in bethesda after Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and there messing with Skyrim breaking mods.

ok, and why are you telling us that? that's between you and your computer. lmao

This game is very good and it has pretty everything you can also do in Star Citizen and other space games. It doesn't have the cinematic grafics of these AAA titles, but I don't care about it, the SB2 features get fletched-out quickly and the game gets better and better.

let people share what they need to share

somethings don't need to be shared like negative posts

modding could go either way, it could be anything, it could be things that are only lore friendly and it could be things that aren't the purpose of modding is to add in ideas that make the game more fun to play and to give options in how you want to play your game.
