Im so glad im not alone.
The things we do for tasty profits xD
Good guide btw! ty.
Second option will launch mini probes. These bugs will slowly travel inside the asteroid heading to the nearest ore vein. As soon as they reach it, you will loose sight of them, they will deactivate. So keep an eye on their heading and start digging towards their last known location.
Third option is a bomb. Point where you want them to explode, press middle button and wait 2-3 seconds. They will remove a large circular chunk of the asteroid, occasionally yielding some ore - but most times they will destroy everything, including precious ore - be warned.
regarding the WORMS:
"I would look at any engineer in disbelief if I were presented with this solution for a sensor:
Yes correct, the sensor switches off when it has found something. If you are not looking at the moment, it is of course stupid.
How do you find it again? Well, you have to dig until you have line of sight to the sensor again..."
The other way it would totally make sense:
The sensors (WORMS) get visible at once they have contact to ore
or they change color
or they beep/blink for some seconds before switching off
or they leave a visible marker at the asteroids model in the down right screen.
I would imagine it to be fun to plant these worms in several asteroids and swirl around in my ship to get back to those ready with exploration, deciding if it´s worth to do it myself or let a drone do the work.
BTW - some kind of placeable beacon would be nice to find back to visited asteroids.
And I would prefer to have mixed ressources per asteroid:
more surprise - more satisfaction - more colors - less minmax (farm only the most profitable)
The Worms turn red for me and stand still if they found some ore, part blocking me from mining too. Took me a while to understand what they are doing.
A Beacon would not work since the Asteroid field reset each time you visit, same if you save and load. When loading you float in space with no asteroid around you, if you saved inside one.
Currently there seems no way to rank up because I get no 'mission' for that when talking with the person about the Rank. If I keep mining I get to rank 2, but without the rank up bonus, like the ship or the mining tool. The console for rank 2 works fine, but only gives upgrades for the Misactor.
can the huqe use mining laser and vacuum directly or just misactor:/(still havent bother to check to which weapons it can and cant use, currently rails are unequippable)
Plus once I got the T3 Mining ship I was gonna go to the Hanger and upgrade the ship with Tiers etc.
If there is no T2 or T3 Mining Ships no point in trying to get mining guild rank to 3 :(
They turn red for me also, but they aren´t visible through the stone for me then - they just get invisible without line of sight.
I fly around and scan the asteroids and after may be 20 coal rocks I start to think, that those gold ore one isn´t that bad as I first thought - but I won´t be able to find it among all the others. This "plate" with the scan results shows when I hover the mouse, but I can´t keep in mind, which 20 rocks I scanned.
The mining laser has ticks and after a certain time the last tick generate a chunk of asteroid we have to attract to gather.
The last tick item give what chunk is given.
If you tick on Ore you get Ore, if you tick on rock, you get stone.
So, when carving around the Ore in an asteroid, start with the stone around the Ore and finish with the ore itself to get the Ore to gather.
It should be better with an average or just a real calc of the Ore mined...
