6 Weapon Slots

How do I equip 2 more weapons on the ship I have that has 6 weapon slots?

You need to buy the weapons, and equip them while in your ship. You can do this by hitting the station services key> weapon management. Then you need to unload your existing weapons, and then add your new ones in. Make sure to set your fire groups to.

This can be done from any dockable station, to my knowledge.

If you want to add more weapons that six, you have to upgrade your ship tier in faction stations that reads "Hangar" in it's name. You can also level up your ship, change paint and buy epic components there

you dont need six slots, just 4 rails and an offensive slot(dads ship is really good), im burning carriers and the federal corvette looking ship with ease

I've ran into two problems. One is buying a ship that said it had 4 slots but it only has two. That sort of thing probably isn't OP's problem though. The other problem I had is when I bought a new ship and switched to it, the weapon slots were still for the old ship. I believe I fixed that by switching ships back and forth or saving, exiting, and reloading. I forget which.

The ship I have has 6 weapon slots but only able to equip 4 weapons to it and add them to 1 and 2 fire group. So I am guessing once I upgrade the tier of the ship I will be able to have another fire group and equip those last 2 slots with weapons?
Curious isn't there ships in the game with 8 weapon slots? Or was I seeing things? lol

Most weapon slots (6) I found are on Annihilator. Every ship I saw so far can get two more weapon slots when raising tier level and mounting the uprade. It might be, that a new aquired ship is not fully equipped, if I interprete your observation correctly.

It isn´t possible now to add fire groups or mix weapon types in one fire group
