left alt is crouch, has any game ever done that?
why isn't it c or ctrl?
don't even get me started about ship controls, geeze.
other than that, game seems great.
fps is good, if you need to crouch... then go to a lower level area, as of right now, theres no stealth mechanic, and cloak doesnt count toward that(also swapping v and c fixes this for nitpickers), alt was the toggle action mode and click mode, now unified(or simply removed click mode*shrug)
I kinda thought the same thing. I was looking forward to this game but then this.
Also I was getting out of my ship and couldnt find my way in again. The ship was still in the air when I pushed the exit button. I could get up there but no matter where I went the ship wouldnt let me in again so I had to restart.
You dont need the missiles at all. You just have to hold the right mouse button to focus on that one enemy. To me it is a weird mechanic and I dont know why it was implemented but it works for better accuracy in space combat.
Also the game feels way too arcady for a space game with the outside view. My problem is that no matter how often I switch, the cockpit view does not want to return.
I had my doubts when I saw that we could actually go outside the ship because I am not the shooter kinda guy but I wanted to support the dev because he is talented so I gave it a chance and didnt go for a refund. Although within the first 30 minutes I was very close to do it.
Is it so very hard to copy a game's style?
Is is so very hard to update graphics?
If Starfield ends up sucking, I just may take up frog licking.
If you want to try a new game influenced by the great space games of the past, then give this a try.
That's the problem with many gamers. They expect a game to be "[GAME] 2.0" instead of something new. But if it's too similar, it's accused of being a clone and unoriginal.
This is an upgraded version of SpaceBourne (original which I have), I should not have been surprised/disappointed by how this game ended up, and yet I allowed my self to do so.
I had already gone back to Freelancer (Discovery Mod). but noticed your response.
And now I take my leave.
Trentscousin
Sounds like you have a perfect opportunity to take up the task of updating Freelancer's graphics. Granted, not as easy as frog licking but apparently something you desire.
I loved Freelancer back in the day and mods kept it going for more than a decade. If you want the latest Freelancer, Chris Roberts is making Star Citizen --for the past decade-- I'm a backer still waiting on SQ42.
I mean I get Trentscousin's frustration; Opening the map, click on destination, press key to set destination, press T to close map, move ship around to face toward destination, mouse button to "lock" destination, press Shift to activate warp, etc is pretty tedious. Also similar situation with the jump gates. It could totally be made much more straightforward but I'm giving it a chance.
