Right now I find controller pretty unplayable, cant seem to rebind things and the sensitivity is way to high even at its lowest.
I totally agree. I hope it does become a priority soon.
I've used a controller for 1500+ hours in ED vs a T16000M in MSFS, and the first thing I want to do in a new game is set up the inputs and go for a test fly...and you can't?
Not to mention the sensitivities also make it virtually uncontrollable with anything but the tiniest of stick movements.
Priorities. Content and gameplay is nice, but if users can control the ships etc then what's the point. Input systems are the #1 thing to get right out the gate with this type of game.
I'm kind of gobsmacked the developer has missed this critical point while doing all the rest of the systems, because it certainly looked impressive from the outside, esp for a 1 man operation.
This needs a lot more time in the oven.
Sadly, going to refund, will check back in 6 months.
95% of people think it's crazy but it works great for most games.
I wish the dev best of luck, game concept looks very cool (who doesn't want a replacement for ED or SC that is actually fun, not a grindfest, and works?) but please put some love into the input system.
That's where the first user experience starts.
If the dev has only implemented MKB control for the game so far then that's all the user should be able to see.
If gamepad or HOTAS configuration is included, then it should be usable, bar a few issues.
Atm it's totally unusable. What's the point in that? That should at least be a usable feature by EA time, as you can't evaluate the game properly otherwise.
But whatever, refunded. I won't bother with a review as it's still in development, will check it out again in 6 months.
Furthermore, the pinned FAQ states:
>>Will the game have Gamepad and/or HOTAS support?
The game currently has a Gamepad and HOTAS support. However, we have not added these features as a feature on the Steam page until we perfect them based on future feedback.
They're not even remotely usable atm, so to claim it has "The game currently has a Gamepad and HOTAS support." is untrue, They need more than "until we perfect them based on future feedback."
i had never any problems with any controller supported game on pc since then
and i used the xbox 360 one and also the xbox one controller on pc
game runs pretty fine with xbox one controller (turn all sensitivity sliders down as much as possible)
