It says to find and loot civil ship, but where can i find a 'civil' ship? And how to loot it?

go to a warp gate and fire at some random ship. Kill it. win

but keep an eye on its Lvl. some are hard to kill. Try and call in your squad first

I still haven't figured out how to set up a squad. There are a couple people who show up in cutscenes sometimes but I've never had them with me in free roam.

In faction overview you can assign pilots to you by dragging them from the bottom row into the + icons left and right of your picture.

Ah that's my problem I haven't gotten anyone new into my faction, I get no missions in the email interface. Was hoping a patch would fix it but I might have to start a new game.

Dont forget to pay the fine once security is informed. Otherwise you will be chased.

thats what the discord mods told us + worked for everyone there =S
maybe try another one?

I think you have to loot cargo from them, and I guess not every ship drops cargo.

Finished the mission yestedray. Killed a random dude at the gate. No loot dropped.
