How to make probes work ? Button?

I bought a surface probe and a space probe for signals. How do I use the probes. What button to press when in the ground for the surface probe and what button to press when on the ship ? thanks

My guess is, that´s not in the game yet. You use the other probes from the T menu. Wasn´t able to do that with the surface probe, not in space, not on surface. Says the probe is 100% ready, but it´s greyed out. Maybe joining the explorers guild would shine light on it.

There´s video tutorials in the escape menu. Didn´t see surface probes explained either.

For what now in the game already: 1-you need to launch Catcher Probe to find out systems area for future scanning; 2-launch Booster Probe(placing it in scaning sector focusing on the pinging sound), it will build up singals strength; 3-launch Merger Probe(placing it in scaning sector focusing on the pinging sound), it will lower singals power but merge them to signal location. Thing is you need to make Catcher Probe Found Setting(by workings with settings on other Probe) goes to 100%,which build up when signals Merge, so you need to hold signals power around 15% since on 0% or 20% they just dissappear.

It's simple. If you join Explorers Guild they even tell you how to get help as some don't notice how to launch probes without the directions.
