Best way to make money?
Topic. It's like 3 or 4 million for a decent starship it seems, and freelancer missions pay out 70k-100k each.

I'm not super keen to grind out 30 or 40 missions in a row, is there a better alternative for making cash?

Can I rob a station or something? Is there some high risk high reward activity I can try to make a big stack of cash?

Failing that, what is the best way to make money in this game?

Thanks.

Get a sniper rifle, go to planets press B land near villages ... kill all loot everything. You can make millions this way. Be very careful, keep your distance , hence sniper rifle.

Freelancer missions and mercenary missions to take out slave villages then loot houses

outposts on planets are like mini dungeons, enter the center buildings to find a place to press F then roam around killing the mobs to find elevators to go further down; each level 2+ has loot boxes you can find with gear and what not, fill up go sell; easily come out with 2-3 mil

The main campaign will give you a new ship at some point and would suggest against upgrading your main ship until it does so. The one you get in the main campaign has 4 weapon points.

While the base pay for missions may not seem like a lot do not forget you also get loot from the missions. Note freelancer missions with skull means there will be a randomized big ship I assume more skulls = more capital ships these tend to be high risk high reward due to the loot capital ships can drop. Tough I will warn you its extremely time consuming to fight capital ships in the starting ship unless you have very good weapon systems.

Note missions to take out slave markets are space stations that can spawn infinite fighters until you disable the hanger you can use these to start a almost endless fighter waves.

Some merc missions will have you play domination protecting a hack point and send endless waves of enemies which generates some quite good loot.

Also also if you save / load before completing those domination missions it will force you to start over the domination but you keep all the skills and loot you gained so far. This is a bit scummy but I figure you wanted to have all the information.

Awesome tips, thanks guys. How do you loot in space? The only thing I ever see are pods but I don't know how to put them in my ship. I can stabilize them but thats it I don't know what to do from there.

In the upper right corner there is a box/crate icon. It will have a number beside if there is anything to loot, click the crate, scan the cargo, then retrieve it.

For the pods you need a consumerable that you can buy at the market and equip it from services. After stabilizing right click and press 6 - slot 1, 7 - slot 2, 8 - slot 3.
(based on which slot you have the pod breaker equped on)

The pods have a variable value but average about 45k but can be valued over 100k.

Step 1: Land on planet near a dungeon
Step 2: kill and loot dungeon only pick up ship upgrades or weapons actually worth something
Step 3: keep doing it until inventory filled
Step 4 sell everything should be about a couple million worth of crap (ship upgrades are about 100k+ depending on level)
