It's...a thing. Once you get past the super-ugly UI and the lack of explanation for any of the game mechanics whatsoever, it can be kind of entertaining. Kind of.

Career of the President is a simple text based casual "career simulator" where you make various choices like hiring people, buying businesses and making connections to see how far in life you can get (even becoming elected as President).

It's a novel concept, I've only seen a small handful of games with this general theme. The game is text only and could have been done in a browser, so it's difficult to advocate this to dedicated PC gamers due to the minimalist nature of the game.

The developer chose to release this game for free on Steam, without microtransactions or any other monetisation. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. This is certainly a noble gesture that shows dedication to the gaming industry.

While the minimalist nature of the game prevents me from recommending it, there's some potential if this was given a modern gaming interface, a bit of flair, some graphics, etc etc. As it is, however, it's not really a modern PC game that I could suggest people give up CS:GO for.

It's a well-known in Russian-speaking world computer game from 1980s. I was playing it that time and as a nostalgia gesture I'll put a positive review w/o actually playing. This game made that level of impression on me that I also implemented it as an under-graduate student in 2000s. :-)
