Another Map in the Future
Hello survivors
Will we have more maps in the future or will the existing one be extended. Possibly mod possibilities?

With best regards

They would like to do both (depending on time, resources, etc...). Me, personally, would love to be able to mod every aspect of this game.

I would like to see a sort of random map generator employed in the game, so potentially, every single game could be different.

Now an entirely random play-through on a uniquely generated map would be an awesome experience. Thinking back to that first play when you didn't know where you spawned, or what the map looked like, or where the threats were, was discomforting. Not having the GPS or compass really gave the feeling of being lost in the wilderness. But the one thing with random, it can stack in either a very negative or positive set of circumstances for the player.

But I'll be just as happy with a new map to explore at some point. But honestly, I've already gotten my money's worth from this game. So no pressure. When new stuff arrives it will be always welcomed.

i agree completely random map generator would seriously extend game life.

yeah just like Six Days in Fallujah's mechanic, randomly generated map, this will makes mapping and scouting more important rather than just remembering the typical loot spawn XD

Mod/workshop support is planned for after the game leaves early access. There is also plans for smaller maps for locations outside Longdown Valley that will be accessible via quests or other means. (Think the blocked off tunnel in the north of the map)

Imho software generated random maps are against the devs development way.
However, the actual map isnt even fully used now and there is plenty of room for
enhancements and extensions. But who knows what the future will bring. Wasnt
there another map plannend with a big city in it ?

This game is a great example of hand-crafted content. I'm not opposed to a random map generator, although it would be a rather large effort for this developer and take a long time. But I think the current map shows a wonderful human touch that's missing in a lot of games right now. I have 80 hours in my first play-through and still haven't been to all the locations yet.

It's true, any game that you can lose a hundred hours in, is already pretty darn good.
