Why do Water Bottles not stack with each other?

This just seems weird to me.

Filled will stack. Empty will not. Seems odd.

Empty water bottles do not stack. They also look a lot like the junk item plastic bottle that DOES stack. Dirty water and clean water also stacks separately. If you do not have inventory space in your direct inventory you will drop the bottles.

It is rather odd indeed, I was totally expecting them to stack like the junk ones, but they don't. Also you can't put the empty bottles in fridge or food containers either.

Yes, the fridge issue is triggering my OCD ;-)
I made a separate container just for empty bottles next to the fridge.
