Maybe its a gentle satire about how designer brands and shoe or clothing prices don't matter in zombie apocalypse
Now inventory size is all that matters
It really doesn't matter, the items are just stuff that you sell at the trader shops so you can get money to buy the stuff you really need like bullets and food, or convert into credits for buying legendary gasmasks and weapons. Since you have limited slots, pickingup a $50 item is better than a $15 one. Now if that rare item looks cool you can alway put it on your player character, Though choosing clothing items with pocket storage slots , is more prudent.

It depends more on the slot size of the item than it does the actual value of the item. A single slot item worth $25 is a better pick up than an axe which takes up (I forgot exactly how many it is) 10 slots. When I'm looting for stuff to sell, if it doesn't have a $25/per slot ratio it stays where I found it, no matter how "rare" the game says it is.

Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those up to 50 or even to 75 ;)
i found out that getting the 100 dollar single slot mags are decent to pick up. i just wish the weapons had a bit more value to them. feels like they're too low.
I'm sure the cost/price of things are not fully done yet, more than anything they are set just for now i'm betting.

If that is the case i spawn an another backpack to carry it and not worry about it after all its an video game. If i can't pick up something i want i'm not having fun or enjoying myself i know i can't speak for everyone tho however.

True veteran of this game don't loot stuff to sell, they spawn it or spawn an bag to be able carry it that you would leave behind
