How to harvest rocks/destroy trash piles?
Just as the heading says. How do I destroy rocks or clean up trash piles? I have a pick in hand, and I just swing it at boulders/trash and it doesn't do anything. Is there a trick to it? I even checked the control schematic, and didn't find anything.

Step one: makes sure you have the right tool. it will have a line at the bottom with 'can harvest rock' or 'can destroy trash piles.' the 'tactical shovel' is nice if youre look for a tool that can do rock and trash.

For Rocks: harvestable rocks are grey rock with moss growing on them, found near the massive white rocks. smack them and a small chunk will pop out for you to grab. (originally you could harvest the big white ones)

For Trash: It new so i think the dev is still working it out. Right now from what i can tell, not all piles of trash can be destroyed and there is no distinctive visual marker that i can tell from can destroy or not. But those that you can destroy, when you hit it with your tool the screen will shake slightly (easy to miss) and you'll hear a soft thud. For me it takes 2 hits to make them go poof.

hope that helps

Yeah, it does. Thanks. I was kinda hoping all trash could be removed; to clean up existing buildings for a nicer, cleaner look when converting it to a base.
i second wanting to cleanup ALL trash piles.. Who wants to build a base near a trash pile!? allowing us to cleanup all trash gives us soooo many more building location possibilities... shouldn't even be questioning this imo. even if you make it a requirement to have a workbench in the vicinity.
