Someone just took everything you did, all your ideas, etc., used the same asset pack and added multiplayer to take advantage of the situation with Surroundead not having it yet. .

This is so unfair...I'm speechless

I don't know if you've ever seen this, I just discovered it today and things like this piss me off

PS: I'm not saying this because of the use of the same asset pack, I'm aware of this.

exactly, even yesterday an other one pop from nowhere and use the same assets, and it will not be the last for sure.
For some of them I tried to say what I think about this on each related hub, and it's each time the same answer.

"i'm a solo dev, (or we are a little team), with no skill for 3D modelling/sketching (etc) and asset pack help us to still make our game and speed up the process in the same time"

But they always avoid answering about abusing the same assets, or why they use this or it's very basic answer like "I like it" or "I already have it so I used it", something who could be true, but it's not really true when it's the case of so many different games.
And on top of that, with so many many good and cheap assets pack available, there is so many that for me it's the main point show that something is wrong because with so many choise, even if a few would be better, it can't be only one.
I did look at other assets of same type for same kind of games, and there is so great stuff that they could used...

I'm totaly fine with buying Assets, but at this scale, it's crazy, and I think that we will maybe never see anything on steam game page's about the source of the assets used, and if they use some, even if I think that it would be a great addition to steam.

If anything, SurrounDead stole Deadpoly's game. Deadpoly came first (Jan 2022 vs June 2022 for SurrounDead).

If they didn't steal Deadpoly's game, then these new zombie low-poly games haven't stolen SurrounDead either.

Every single low poly zombie survival game I've played plays very differently to SurrounDead. Each fills a specific niche.

Only when a game plays exactly like SurrounDead, with the same interface, same gameplay, and same sound/music assets, can you say that it was stolen. Otherwise, that definition means that Deadpoly was the first, and SurrounDead stole its gameplay and ideas from it.

Based on your logic, of all these newcomers creating games with the Synty Asset pack, stealing ideas from SurrounDead, well, SurrounDead then by that logic, stole ideas from Deadpoly. If it is okay for SurrounDead to do that, then it should be fine for other games to do it too.

Or you start reading and accepting the truth but then again some people just can't do just that because it don't support their view. The truth won't be changed by your feelings. enough said if you are being honest with yourself and yes! i agree go troll somewhere else you won't get your food here. Bottom line is the games using some of the same ideas isn't breaking any rules or laws you don't have to accept it but you sure should, you should also know the more games are made the harder it is to make an game unique that is why newer game makers often use stuff they pay for or ideas in other games of the same type, all games have at least one thing that is the same which is all with-in steam's rules and copyright's laws.

I do not know about anyone else but i do NOT pretend if there is creative ideas in Surroundead, I know there is without any doubt "A woman in labor wants the pain to end" which isn't easy these days with so many games being made.

I was clearly talking about SurrounDead, which I've played about 11 hours. I don't have to assume anything, I know. There isn't a single original concept in this game, and every mechanic and feature is mediocre. Tons of bugs, very bad UI, lack of hotkeys for basic functions, poor tutorial... the list is very long. it is in the eyes of the beholder like everything in this game is, i use melee all the time without problem but i guess i'm the one that needs mental help got it.

If you don't like something in this game don't use it, the real people that need mental help are the ones that hate something but refuse to stop using it like get a freaking clue already its not hard to not use something you hate.

The main things I see Zombie Survival Game Online having in common with SurrounDead are:
-Using the same Polygon City Zombies asset pack and others by Synty Studios.
-Being set in a post-apocalyptic zombie setting.
-Having military equipment and guns.
-Looting and building.

These aren't original concepts. Neither game is "original." But from watching a few videos of ZSGO, it looks way, way more polished and complete and well-made than SurrounDead.

You are welcome to go play it then when it is ready too and you own it.
