I hope he doesn't waste time with that stuff or at least until the game nears completion. Way too much work to get multiplayer and co-op into the game. Right now there isn't enough content in the game to keep people playing for very long. All of the attention needs to be towards content, content and content. Fill in the map and expand it. More variations of zombies and AI bandits are needed.
But I think everyone can set their servers to PvE only or still playing the singleplayer mode. So it is win win for everyone.
But yes, survival games just need an online mode to interact with other heroes/bandits.
Or have seperate PVE / PVP servers.
Why did you buy a single player game if you don't like them? It clearly says single player on the store page. I'll never understand why people buy single player games and then whine that they're single player.
I am fine with SP, but If COOP Is added because the game has enough challanges to be played COOP, then I am fine with that too.
Project Zomboide has survived since 2013 as a SP survival game, which means SP Is still a valuable game mode that still lives today. No need for VR either ;-)
As for PVP, there´s plenty of survival games out there In offer that are only PVP, so this would become just "another" PVP survival zombi game. Nothing wrong with that, but as I said, there´s already plenty of those around. Just my personal opinion...
This is a common quote that multiplayer people toss out which is a load of bunk. This is the 3rd single player game I've purchased in the past while where multiplayer people have hopped in the forums complaining they want multiplayer. As other devs have stated, to change a single player game to multiplayer means months and months of work and changing of code. It means the people who bought the game for a single player experience get their game development put on hold with no new content for months or more while the dev works on multiplayer. Then the multiplayer crowd does the usual and move on to the next shiny shiny. Instead of telling me that I don't have to use the multiplayer how about you just go find a multiplayer game instead? There a millions of them.
