FEAR 2 startup crash on win 7
fear 2 startup crash on win7 64bit
i recently finished f.e.a.r with this computer but i can't start fear2
what should i do?

You should eat, sleep when necessary and excercise regularly.

Change the compatibility level on your computer to Windows XP. This might solve the problem

i already did that i change compatibility level on xp sp2 but it still doesn't work

i have also tried compatability and its not fixing the problem. first launch of a single player campaign starts my progress load bar at 50% and it just hangs there or immediately crashes to desktop. Also tried suggested fix of video resolution with no effect.

Ran the local file integrity check on the game files, found 4 invalids and repaired them. The good news is it worked and my games runnin! bad news is it was another 2.6gig download on top of the original 12+ gig original DL.

it's missing a DLL file. download the file here. http://download.dll-files.com/eea5e428ce63804f9b12d21c97b5968f/d3dx9_40.zip?0XDkUCYFdS and extract it to your FEAR2 file. Got my game up and running perfectly.

delete Profile000.gps and Profile000.ltprofile files on

My Documents > WBGames > FEAR2 > ### > Profiles

After this the game starts normally and auto detect your hardware again.
