I need the product key for F.E.A.R.2 Project Origin

When trying to install the game, which apparently must be activated via Steam, I am required to enter a "Product Code" in the Steam Product Activation window.

The user manual for the game suggests (on pg 3, Steam Installation and Launching Instructions) section 3 states that " You will find this located on the back of the Manual cover."
There is only the one booklet within the box, and there is no discernable code to be found. Only what appears to be a 10-digit reference number at the very bottom underneath the publiosher address and copyright license information.

There is, near the top, underneath "F.E.A.R.2 Project Origin" logo, a sizeable white rectangle - typical of those commonly found to contain the variety of "activation code or serial key etc. in most other software, but unfortunately in this particular case - the rectangle is blank and any Product Code appears to be absent. I would be greatly appreciative and very grateful if anybody could provide any assistance in this matter, since understandably, without the product code, one is unable to install or play the game - Which is even more infuriating by the general clauses of the licensing agreement which had already been agreed prior to this stage of installation means that I am now prevented from being able to return the product. The store will nto accept returns of video games if these have been opened. The publishers request that prior to any returns, they are contacted on an email address (which is no longer available), and any warranty/disclaimer from the EULA is "not applicable and void if the Product serial number is altered, defaced or removed" (pg 31 Limited Warranty section 'e')

If it was bought new from a store, I would take it back to them regardless of anything said on screen as it is defective and there's no way you could know the code was missing without opening it.
If it was bought second hand, you got conned as the previous owner will have removed the code.

anyway, if you need a key of this game, you can get it for 1 dollar. That's how I got it via one of our Russian online stores, but it's region free, so you can buy the key for only $1. Unfortunately, Reborn DLC costs 5 bucks :((
