Should i play F.E.A.R in chronological order?
I'm just looking to stock up on scary games, and it seems out of the.. triliogy (i think it is a triliogy) this is the most scary. But, should i also get the first or..?

Yes, the first one is the best. Don't bother with the third though.

Yes, play the first one first and the then Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate. FEAR 2 and FEAR 3 are good in their own right, but don't expect gameplay or scares as good as the first one. You will probably still want to play them just to complete the trilogy.

Fear 2 is sweet, played alot of it back when it came out. Good stuff.

I just finished re-playing FEAR 1 and it's surprisingly playable considering its age. The graphics might not be top-notch anymore, but the combat is as fun as ever and the scares are quite good as well. Also play the expansions, Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate. They're quite good even if they're not considered canon.

It's definitely recommended playing it in the chronological order, only the first game has the best scares imho, but the FEAR 2 definitely has some potential, FEAR 3 is more shooter and less horror game, this game screwed the series )=

:sotachaos: This is well said Species. Play them all, don't listen to the haters. Thay are all good. Imo the first one is the best. Make sure yo play Extraction point and Perserus Mandate before you move on. Play the second and then if you have it play Reborn. Its not long but it is fun. Fear 3 is a lot of fun, I love it and the graphics are very good. Its not as scary but it is creepy when playing solo. I recommend playing it solo the first time to get the best experiece. :squirtyay:
You are really in for a treat, These 3 games and their expansions are some of my favorite games of all time. My steam group and several guilds through the years are called [rS] Replica Soldiers. I'm glad to hear you are among the reletive few that get to enjoy FEAR in its entirety. :sotachaos:

The first one is real Horror. F.E.A.R. 2 and 3 are just a bunch of jumpscares put together to make a game. The only thing I liked was the chance to play as Fettel (he's an awesome character)! But the first one will remain in my heart forever.

I cant see any other way about it. First is very good and immersive at times. Atmoshepheric as well. Though i can say the other 2 look to be this way, something is added in with the release of FEAR 2 and 3 to give way to a more arcade like feel, accesible maybe or console aproach and that kind of removes FEAR 3 from FEAR in more ways than not. , Mind you the list of things removed is not that big and now that i have played the first 2, i got to to finish the 3rd. i jst got to.

I'm looking at them now. Search, F.E.A.R. in the store. I own all F.E.A.R. games and all expansions and they are higly worth playing.

I disagree with players who do not like F.3.A.R. . Campaign is really good but connection issues in co-op mode or multiplayer are disapointment.

I desagree. I am a massive F.E.A.R. fan. I own every game on PC and console and own every expansion for all games. My steam group is even called Replica Soldiers. So obviously I love F.E.A.R.
Imo every game is good in its own ways. The first game is the best imo with the third comming in second. Don't not like something just becuase other people have bad taste in things. Be you'r own person, check out the game, you'll enjoy it if you like FPS games.
