Really? I just tried to reproduce this and got another octo. I can't seem to figure out this system either! I hope we can figure it out soon!
I just realized there's the Discord where people are working on figuring it all out, too.

Here's a link to the spread they have. There doesn't seem to be a 'Ray' one that was listed earlier so that makes sense why it was eluding me. Wingfin is the only one I think I'm missing so I'm gonna go test the lily banana + rainbow star kelp combo and see if it works!
Oh wow! It never occurred to me to use combos like that. Thanks for the information! Hope your Wingfin works out!
It worked! I finally got all of them so I'd say this list is pretty solid. 13 evolutions total and their listed food combinations needed.
Anyone know the recipe?
There is no 'Ray' evolution, my guess is the person who said it earlier actually meant the 'Manta' evolution. There are 13 total as tracked by the Discord folks, and they are..
1. Angler
2. Axo
3. Betta
4. Bunny
5. Butterfly
6. Jumbo
7. Manta
8. Octo
9. Puffer
10. Siren
11. Snake
12. Whisker
13. Wingfin
You can use the google doc above to check which one you're missing, there's photos for each and the food they need to evolve
Thank you so much!
Yes, you'll have to release loddles in biomes that are at max capacity for them to be able to drop new eggs that can hatch. If you check the map, it'll tell you if there are eggs in the zone and you can drop by to look for the little green eggs in the circular dirt mounds around and wait for it to hatch
Honestly not totally sure, as my Betta was discovered randomly in the Gulf. My only advice is to look for a newborn loddle and bring it to the home cove so it doesn't eat anything outside the needed diet. Betta seems to need a combination of being fed rainbow star kelp, coral pear, and passion fig.
hey! i think to get the Axo, all i did was feeding them the kiwi pies. lmk if that works!
Also it looks like you need to get the dialogue from Dave for each evolution for it to count.
Here's the breakdown of how the game handles evolution and food numbers:
Gills have a 3x food point multiplier. All other features use a 1x food point multiplier
