How to pet a loddle？

I think u need an empty hand, so equip a spot from your inventory bar that doesn't have anything in it. And then the same button you use to throw something out of ur inventory with, you use. (You can check settings, go input then remapping and look for "hold hand out" to find which button it is.) That will result in "hold hand out" then you just do that in front of ur loddle and u should be able to do it like that.

Indeed! Thank you. Hey! I'm Georgia, I work for Secret Mode (the publisher of Loddlenaut), and yes, you hold out your hand by pressing the 'hold out item' or 'drop item' button whilst hovering over an empty inventory space.

IN GAME WAS ABLE TO PET A LODDLE BUT THE STEAM ACHIEVEMENT FOR IT IS BROKEN and so is my caps lock key

not working for me. I have an empty spot selected in the hot bar and am mashing the E key which is defined in the key bindings as 'hold out hand' and nothing is happening despite having 3 loddles nearby. I've tried approaching them from multiple directions. I've tried it with different empty slots selected. I've tried it with different loddles at different times and I can't get it to happen.

Hold down L2 or E when an empty slot is selected. That will cause you to hold your hand out. Then the Loddle will take a moment to approach.

Do not 'mash' (repeatedly press) L2 or E. That's not going to work.
