Railway Empire 2

Orient Express finished
To start with, a minor oddity: the caboose is misplaced on the luxury train. Instead of at the end, where I believe it is supposed to be, it is either placed behind the locomotive or behind the dining car.

Fun fact, I did this one with all the extra missions, taking 7.4 years in total. Final score: manager. What else does one have to do to get top score? Roughly 3 years ahead of schedule is pretty OK one would think.

The game ended with a possible tease: an express train between Russia and France as the next dlc?

As for the scenario itself, I would have wanted a bit more of a challenge. Also, guess how many people were interested in a connection between Vienna and Constantinople? Zero. What is the point of the entire Orient Express if the connections are just small(ish) hops between neighbor cities? Suffice to say I had a bit of fun playing, but I had hoped for more. Also, the fact one gets to unlock ONE additional engine is hardly impressive.

i have similar feelings about this, also no luck with chief executive
luxury train is just express train with extra steps for few missions
tried to start map as custom with later eras as there were better locomotives to use (mentioned in descrpition on the page of DLC store!), but guess what? then there are random missions to do...
also whoever did the map, should be fired or go to see eye doctor...did someone ever check it with actual map? west hungary has nowhere mountains like that! also Pressburg/Bratislava is on wrong side of Danube river and several other cities are also wrongly placed....i guess they wanted to be hard to start

Die Karten sind grundsätzlich alle sehr, sehr ungenau . Schade, dass man es nicht geschafft hat etwas mehr Realität zu erzeugen. Auf allen Karten.

The number and demand of Tourists (i,e, Passengers) between any Pair of Cities depends mostly on the Population Sizes of the Two Cities with additional modifiers from various sources, such as Buildings, Tech, maybe some employees etc. In particular, think that are City Buildings that increase demand for Tourists or Passengers, there were in the basic RE2 game.

So Build up the size of the populations in Vienna and Constantinople.

But there is also a limit on how many Cities will get a generated amount of Passengers for.

At the point of finishing the game, both Vienna and Constantinople had 120K (+) population. There was no demand for a connection. None. I assume, but this is just a guess, the distance between those cities is too great for the underlying system to generate demand.

Note that various tasks in this scenario actually require both cities to grow this large.

The problem (I think) is that the game only generates Passengers and Mail for the 20 Closest Cities to any City, and Vienna and Constantinople are too far apart on the Map to be on the list of 20 Closest Cities of each other.

added: I just checked and the Map description says that there are 38 Cities on the Balkans Map, which is a lot more than 20 Cities (almost twice as many).
With Vienna and Constantinople being about the farthest apart of the Cities on the Map.
So they will never send any Passengers and Mail to each other.

I have just started looking at that Scenario, and have only seen initial set of 3 tasks.

you gotta fix this rating for the scenario, finishing most things 2-3 years ahead of time and still only getting 10/11 rating is horrible

Its a bit disappointing that a few regions weren't even needed to complete the scenario. I think you could have a couple more scenarios out of that map.

For my part, I find the DLC lack luster and there is nothing interesting to do on the Balkan map except suffer the extreme long distance between everything, and over emphasizing the fact that passengers revenues are over the top - and GPU utilization is taxed for nothing.
Yes the mountains are nice, but the scenario is not really fun to play as everything is too far away of everything.

I tried this scenario from the start 3 times, and even tried going back one year and replaying some of the scenario for my last try at it. Still can't get to chief executlive level (was about 1100 points short). Anyone out there get a chief executive rating? Any pointers on how to get there?

In a nutshell, it's the same as all the other scenarios - use passenger and mail lines to earn the money, build out the cities which increases the passengers and mail and buy all the businesses before they get expensive.
