merging train tracks

I can't figure out how to merge my tracks. for example, let's say I have two tracks from city A to city B. I have city C to the east that wants to tie into the tracks from city A to B. is that doable? How about if I have two tracks from city C, can they both tie into the tracks from A to B?

Move the end [mouse] that you are building your tracks onto the existing line [think if you want the outer or inner track which lines up to C's station platforms.
Edit: Or you can connect to the 'nipples' at the gridiron too.

I think I've done that with one track. Is there a way to merge two tracks onto two tracks?

Yes, do one track and then the 2nd track right next to it.
Just be careful not to curve the tracks too much.

Sure. If you attack one track to a double tracked main line the game gives you the position where to attack your second track. You have to build them one after another, but they become perfectly parallel.

Ok got it thanks. Now my problem is the new station won't load any freight? Should be loading fruit but train is just running back and forth not loading anything in either direction.

If it is not loading check the city if it will accept that freight.

Says my trainline cannot perform any actions? Why not, it's a fruit farm?

Doh, think I just figured it out...need fridge car. If that's the case (still not sure as fridge car says it boosts income, not that it is required) I wish it was more clear.

Fridge car is not required. Make sure your end destination requires fruit. If they don't, the train won't load.
