Train line cannot perform any actions at the station
I'm getting the warning "According to the setting you made, your train line cannot perform any actions at the station". I had got grid irons at both ends of both stations. Furthermore, if I go from station 1 to startion 2, it says the error is at station 1, but if I go from station 2 to station 1, then it says the error is at station 2.

I have tried turning off the directional flow but that made no difference. I also deleted one of the stations and then rebuilt it with the grid irons and that made no difference either.

Any ideas one what is the issue or is this a bug in the game?

Make sure both stations are within the green circle and show you the dotted line meaning it's connecting. I actually had this problem too and it was because I wasn't close enough to the rural farm when placing my station. It still let me place it, but I couldn't actually use it in relation to the farm.

One station is in a city and the other is well within the green circle. I thought that might have been the problem initially, which is why I destroyed the station and then re-built it, but that did not make any difference.

I have just found another station with a similar problem. Here I have 4 tracks in on one side and 2 tracks on the the other side. When I initially built it with grid iorns at both ends, a train going from line 1 to line 3 and line 2 to line 4, I did not get an error message. Now after connecting up trackks 1 and 2 to another station, I get the error mentioned above. This is independent of which routes I add, e.g. from a neighbouring city to this station or going through this station. It seems very strange.

Could be that the train is set up as Express, meaning it will only pick up passengers and mail.

I have tried both freight and any trains, with the type being set to automatic and I still get the same error.

Thanks for the help and suggestions by the way.

Well, if you made sure the connection is ok and it's configured as automatic or freight, the only possible reason is that there's no demand for the goods in the cities included in the rail line.

The same message can also be given if there is no demand for (all?) goods from a station. So the train can not/will not 'perform the action pick up goods'.

Ok, that makes sense. Thank you all for your help, it is much appreciated.

I just got the same error message. I'm trying to complete the second chapter of the campaign. I need to transport vegetables to York. I have connected the tracks to the stations very well and, in theory, everything should be fine. But I get that error message. Maybe it's because of the last update that came out today? Because my game was updated today morning and there are certain changes to the previous version. Maybe this update is affecting somehow. I don't know

Does York want vegetable? Is the population high enough?

Your trains will not load any goods that is not requested anywhere they can deliver (directly and indirectly through warehouses).

It is related to want cities on the route require. If they don't require what is at that station you get the warning mentioned.

Had the same message about transporting vegetables to York. Turned on veggies in the York warehouse and the trains started hauling them. However, transporting 4 loads of veggies to York is not recognized it looks like not completing it will cause a failure. :steamsad:

This is because York doesn't demand vegetables until a certain population.

Adding a warehouse just mean that vegetable are temporarily dropped there to be delivered to another city.

Those objectives about delivering X ressources to a city are about 2 things.
Having the city grown to a specific threshold
Delivering the amount of goods to the city

I think it is all about warehouse but I do not find any rules for that.

If the route is for a good that is just newly required (city growth / new industry) then give it a bit of time. Good becomes active (but no demand number, yet), but it only actually starts working after it shows a demand number in the city screen.
goes away after a few days (ingame).
(had the issue with some have X goods in city Y, when immidiatly sending trains, got this massage)
