freight trains wont take tools for houston campain

hi,

whatever i do in 3th campain, my trains wont take tools to Austin from Houston. I try to put in 3 trains and only one works even if i made differend roots to get to austin, they always take the root they want. I cant progress cuz Huoston has full tools but trains wont take the to Austin.

Second, i f i make 3 differend roots to austin to get those damn tools from Houston, why do they all take the same root.

third, if i made a third station at Houston , make the track to Austin, why if i want to make a root to that i cant make it even if my tracks is build properly. i want from Houston 3 to Austin 1, made the track compleetly correct, but wont reconize the track.

There are many buggs in this game!!!!

extra, why when a train is going trough a tunnel, the smoke is going trough the ground?

Does Austin demand Tools, i.e. is it's population large enough?

According to the Strategy Guide, Cities require 85,000 population before they request/demand Tools. That is most likely the cause for your problem.

This is a common cause for most problems of this nature, i.e. a City will not demand a certain Resource or Good, because it's population is not large enough.

PS you are in Chapter 4 not Chapter 3 for that Task.

yes Austin demands tools, makes steel, Houston makes tools and asks steel, so i thought i makes a freight only train from Austin to Houston and back so they take whats needed, Austin is at 100k and houston to , and yes lol, chapter 4 hehe ;)

can Housten produce tools? If they dont have enough wood, maybe they dont produce and then dont demand steel. Also not sure if they produce without a demand by another city

You have to buy the steel production in Austin.

Thank you for mentioning you have to actually buy the production of steel. I had steel in Austin and tools in Houston and I could see carloads of steel to houston. I eventually bought the tools factory as I needed to increase its size so that it would make enough tools to increase steel demand. However, the task counter didn't tick up. I could see lots of both steel and tools flowing but nothing counted. Only once I purchased the steel did the carloads count for the task.

Yea it was a bit tricky that one lol, so yeah i had the same issiue when i started over that chapter 4, i passed finaly hehe, or the game choose for you what will be produced or you do set up a factory, i left the game chose for me and the game made the same thing as i did, so i did steel in Huoston and Austin makes tools as Auston choses that itself, so it was easy to make a train going between Austin and Houston, i made a dubble track so it would go faster and yes i got it that way, now i played chapter 5 also and i am dont with the campain lol ;)
